Winter in LA Calls for a Bowl of Pork Kidney Noodles! 🍜❤️
The recent cold snap in LA makes a steaming bowl of soup noodles absolutely essential! The other day while out with my friend and our kids, we circled back to our go-to Cantonese spot in El Monte—mainly to get the kids some Chaozhou-style guotiao (flat rice noodles). We’ve been here many times before. This visit we ordered: 🍜 Chaozhou Guotiao – What we privately call “pork kidney noodles.” I’m obsessed with their pork kidney—sliced evenly, cooked just right, crisp-tender and completely free of any gamy taste. They’re also super generous with veggies, so every bite of noodles comes with plenty of greens. So satisfying! 🍜 Beef Brisket Rice Noodles Big chunks of brisket and tendon, stewed until tender—even kids can chew it easily. The broth is light and subtly sweet—we finished every drop! 🥤 Plum Green Tea – Refreshing and tasty. Overall, this place is perfect if you like light, broth-forward meals and it’s very kid-friendly. We often order pickup via Panda Express—super convenient too. 📍 9646 Garvey Ave, Ste 108, South El Monte, CA #LAFood #ChaozhouSnacks #ChaozhouNoodlesLA #LAChinese #LAStudents
