Work from Utah🍜 Midweek Fish Noodles, Sunday Pho
My friend tried their slow-simmered bone broth pho on Sunday and was absolutely amazed! From Tuesday to Saturday, they don’t serve pho but focus on unique Vietnamese dishes—so we went back to try those too! 📍 917 200 W, Salt Lake City, UT 🥑 Avo’s Rating: 👏 Loved 👍 Liked 👌 Okay 👎 Not for me Appetizers 🍗 Fish Sauce Wings 👏 Who hasn’t had chicken wings? But the seasoning here is something special! Crispy wings with fish sauce and spicy glaze—salty, tangy, and spicy all at once. 🦐 Shrimp Scallion Rolls 👍 They also have classic egg rolls, but these shrimp and scallion-filled ones are more interesting. Dipped in sweet chili sauce, they’re a treat. Five pieces per plate, perfect for sharing. Main Courses 🐷 Caramel Pork Belly with Egg 👍 I previously wrote about the new American-style pork belly at 【The Copper Onion】, but this Vietnamese version is totally different! Simmered in coconut caramel sauce—less like Chinese braised pork and more a unique sweet-salty blend. Topped with a soft-boiled egg for extra satisfaction. 🐟 Ginger Steamed Fish 👏 Steamed sea bass, but far from bland—the ginger seasoning is fantastic! 😊 Vermicelli and bok choy soaked up the broth so well we cleaned the plate quickly. It might be a familiar taste for those from southern coastal areas, but finding it in a Vietnamese restaurant was a delightful surprise. Not recommended for those wary of bold flavors! 🥖 Banh Mi 👍 A classic—lemongrass pork in a French baguette. How could it not be delicious? Topped with jalapeños, cilantro, and pickled veggies—fresh and light. Drinks The floral tea was just okay. My friend ordered a creatively presented alcoholic drink, especially the Invisible Keno Casino, but since I didn’t try it, I won’t comment! 😁 💬 The restaurant is right next to a bus stop, so it’s convenient even if you don’t drive. Service is friendly, but they’re strict about ID—even if you’re not ordering alcohol, don’t forget to bring yours! 🌍 Four years of working remotely… Next stop: Still Salt Lake City. #SaltLakeCityEats #UtahFood #SLCVietnamese #VisitSaltLake #WorkFromAnywhere #FoodieAdventure #NoodleLover #VietnameseCuisine #ComfortFood
