Yafa Bakery & Café | Boston’s Middle Eastern Sweet Spot
Winter really calls for high-calorie sweet treats, doesn’t it 💕 And award-winning shops truly have their strengths ✨ 🌟 Shop Ambiance The space is cozy with about five tables for two. The ordering and exit path is the same, so it can feel a bit tight when crowded, but overall it’s bright, clean, and warmly inviting. 🌟 Warm and Generous Owner & Staff As soon as you enter, the staff offers a sample cup of Chai tea 🍵—mild and smooth, not overpowering. This tea is key—it mimics the balance of “tea with sweets” in an afternoon tea setting. When they heard it was our first visit and we wanted less sugary options, the owner generously offered tastings from the moment we lined up until checkout. Sure enough, we ended up wanting to buy several items! 🌟 Tasting Notes 🍥 Pistachio-filled Rectangle The outside is crispy shredded pastry with syrup—a bit sweet, but the inside is packed with pistachios. The nutty aroma is rich and helps balance the sweetness. 🍥 Round Long Biscuits (two varieties) The darker one has an almond base, the lighter one is coconut-flavored. Both are crumbly and not overly artificial. My friend really loved the texture—we bought both ✅ 🍥 Rose Square (blind buy) Bought purely for the looks and the rose element 🌹. The rose flavor is strong, and the texture is chewy and slightly sticky—pretty good! 🍥 White Roll (sampled only) Similar to an eggless roll soaked in syrup—too sweet for us, so we skipped it. 🍥 Small Square Cake Tastes like pound cake soaked in syrup—quite sweet. Best enjoyed with Chai tea to balance it out. 🔖 Summary: Great for those who enjoy nutty aromas and can handle moderate sweetness in Middle Eastern pastries. Best shared with friends and paired with hot tea to cut through the richness. #Boston #StudentFoodExplorer #MiddleEasternSweets #BostonFood #WinterComfortFood
