Yemeni Cuisine at Bab-Al-Yemen |A Delight for Lamb and Bread Lovers

Located near the Green Line’s Kenmore station, this Yemeni restaurant has an average cost of $30-$40 per person. I visited with a mindset to explore something new, and Middle Eastern cuisine is quite delicious. The overall atmosphere of the restaurant is great; although the entrance is small, the inside is bright and adorned with many Middle Eastern-style decorations. There’s a ground floor and a basement; the ground floor has window seats with cushions and platforms, where you need to take off your shoes to sit. Since I was there for the ambiance, I definitely wanted to experience this dining style. 😊 You can scan a QR code on the table to view the menu. We mainly ordered three dishes, and since I already love lamb and strong flavors, I found everything delicious. I recommend starting with either the Hummus (chickpea paste) or Mutabal (eggplant paste) as an appetizer, which comes with a small basket of freshly cut, warm bread that has a slight tanginess. For the main course, we ordered a lamb or chicken fried rice dish called Lamb Harneeth. The lamb fat infused in the rice was incredibly aromatic, but if you’re not accustomed to the taste of lamb, proceed with caution. 🥘 We also added an order of Fahsah, a lamb and tomato soup. The stone pot arrived with the soup still bubbling. It comes with a super large, thin bread, which seems to be made with yeast. The edges are thick and chewy, while the middle is thin and crispy. Tearing it apart and dipping it into the soup is such a blissful experience of enjoying a meal! 😋 #RestaurantRecommendations #TreasureRestaurantShare #AtmosphericRestaurant #GlobalEatingSquad #FoodCollector #YemeniCuisine #BostonLife
