Yogyakarta Phoenix MGallery - The First MGallery in Indonesia
The MGallery collection under Accor is truly full of hidden gems! 💎 The prices are unbelievably affordable, yet the quality never disappoints—it always feels like stumbling upon a treasure. 🏆✨ MGallery is a brand dedicated to curating unique hotels worldwide. Many of its properties are nestled in historic buildings, where the charm lies not in opulent facilities but in the rich heritage waiting to be discovered. 🏛️🔍 The MGallery in Yogyakarta is no exception—it boasts a century-old legacy! 🕰️ Built in 1918, the hotel was originally a Chinese merchant’s mansion. From 1946 to 1949, it briefly served as the Nationalist Government’s consulate in Java. Later, it was used by Indonesian government offices before transforming into the hotel we see today over a decade ago. 🌿🏨 My stay here left an incredible impression: affordable, beautiful, and just perfect. 💯 Yogyakarta’s cost of living is much lower than Bali’s, and it’s far less commercialized. 🛍️➡️🌿 Yet, whether it’s attractions, hotels, or souvenirs, everything is infused with rich cultural character. What shocked me the most? Even now, compared to my stay years ago, the hotel prices haven’t risen—they’ve actually dropped quite a bit! 📉 (Well, except for that outrageously expensive Aman, which completely defies local pricing trends. 💸🙄) Located in the heart of Yogyakarta, this hotel offers much easier access to nearby attractions than staying near Borobudur. 🚗💨 Given its age, some facilities may feel a bit dated, but it doesn’t detract from the experience at all. And oh—I still remember how delicious their breakfast was! 🍳☕ Definitely a place I’d revisit on my next trip to Yogyakarta. 🔄❤️ #YogyakartaPhoenixHotel #YogyakartaHotelRecommendations #YogyakartaTravelGuide #AccorHotels #MGallery
