York’s Hidden Gem Restaurant Share, Absolutely Love It!

While traveling in York, I discovered a fantastic little restaurant run by two sisters, it’s a paradise for cheese, ham, and wine lovers. 🌟 The options for cheese, ham, and single glasses are plentiful, along with various combination flights. The restaurant offers suitable pairing suggestions for what the guests order. 🌟 I tried two types of cheese 🧀️DELICE DE BOURGOGNE and 🧀️BUFFALO BLUE, both of which are my favorite kinds. For meat, I chose 🦆 duck breast and 🐟 SMOKED MACKEREL PATE. The latter is a locally smoked fish from York, and the meat from a small jar is incredibly delicate, with a perfect balance of sweet, salty, and umami, complemented by a slight dairy aroma. Adding fennel and bread is delightful. 🌟 The restaurant recommended some wines to pair with the cheese and meat, so I’ll mark the Top 3 Pairings of the day. 🍷 MONTAGNY LES MACLES, DOMAINE BERTHENET I’ve had this one before, and it has a wonderful creamy texture with hints of apple and small white flowers. Unexpectedly, pairing it with 🧀️DELICE DE BOURGOGNE was like ascending to heaven in an instant. The creamy flavors complement each other, extending the infinite nuttiness, with clearer notes of small white flowers and cashews in the mouth, along with a hint of brown butter. Simply divine. 🍷 “LES MONIERS”, CHAPOUTIER, CROZES-HERMITAGE BLANC A Rhône Valley wine made from 100% Marsanne, with hints of white peach, minerality, and creaminess. It’s an excellent choice with 🧀️BUFFALO BLUE, leaving a slight sweetness in the mouth. When paired with the smoked fish, the fish’s umami is subdued, revealing more of a mushroom-like freshness that lingers. It finishes with a sweet and light cream aroma. 🍷 COTE DE BROUILLY, DOMAINE DE LA VOUTE DES CROZES A Beaujolais with distinct fruit aromas. When paired with 🧀️BUFFALO BLUE, the nutty flavors transform into a cleaner and more defined type. It’s a good and safe choice. (No need to ask about the duck breast, I devoured it too quickly because I was so hungry.) This is a restaurant that truly puts heart into its food and conveys the beauty of Food&Wine Pairing to its guests. I would definitely come back to York for it. I recommend wine, cheese, and ham enthusiasts to bookmark this place! 🍷Pairings Wine Bar #HiddenGemRestaurant #BritishCuisine #ExploringShopsInUK #YorkFood #YorkExploration #YorkTown
