Your All-in-One Guide to the Enchanting Pueblo Town 🔮
Our first stop heading south from Denver was the super charming town of Taos — with its incredibly cute adobe houses! You can easily explore it in half a day! 🛖 Intro Taos is a living Native American community that has been a cultural hub since the 17th century. Traditional ceremonies are still held here, but the real stars are those uniquely adorable mud-brick houses! With soft, rounded edges, they look like they’re made of clay—uniquely beautiful and photogenic! 🏺 🏜 Attractions The town is small and centered around one main street, perfect for a relaxed stroll with plenty of character at every corner! Must-visit spots: 🔹 Taos Plaza A historic square with lots of art galleries and local craft shops. Perfect start to get a feel of the town! 🔹 Harwood Museum of Art Located near the plaza—great collection of local art, paintings, and sculptures. Also a nice cool escape from the heat! 🖼️ 🔹 Taos Pueblo A living Indigenous community and UNESCO site—imagine an entire neighborhood with traditional homes where people still live! Sadly, it was closed due to COVID when we visited 🥲 so check their website in advance! 🔹 Taos Art Museum at Fechin House Highly recommended! Features beautiful original Pueblo-style architecture. So special and photogenic! Besides these, just wandering around, soaking in the vibe, and snacking is totally worth it! 🌮 Restaurant We loved La Cueva Cafe! Came based on recommendations and it did not disappoint. Their chips are addictive 😋 Classic New Mexican dishes like Tacos, Enchiladas, and Fajitas are served here with beans and rice—flavorful but not too heavy. The outdoor seating is cozy and pleasant! ⛺️ Accommodation We stayed at the famous retro trailer hotel — Hotel Luna Mystica! Also highly recommend: 🔮 The Historic Taos Inn You can stay in traditional Pueblo-style rooms surrounding a beautiful courtyard—super Instagrammable! The lobby is gorgeous and turns into a bar at night. Already want to go back! 💘 #NewMexico #TravelNewMexico #Taos #PuebloStyle #SouthwestVibes
