There are many bakeries and cafes in Camperdown, choose any other than the Loaf & Lounge. The staff, are the absolute rudest, stuck up, unfriendly people. I have known of this place for over 10 years, and the very first time I went here, I had the same experience as I do now. The staff have no personality, theyâre impatient, staring at you with a deep frown while youâre choosing what you want. They hurry you. The girl I got yesterday was so rude. I feel like putting a big complaint directly to them. If that girl, when she went for the job interview, acted like how she acted towards me and my family yesterday, she would not have got the job. We bought a slice and they didnât even give us plates when we had to ASK FOR PLATES, as apparently some of their food is âtakeaway food onlyâ, yet itâs not listed anywhere that we couldnât eat their food at their facility đ¤ˇđźââď¸ (the photo I attached begs to differ đ¤). 2 staff members literally said âDo whatever you want (in an exceptionally rude tone) but itâs not preferred for you to eat the vanilla slice you just bought off us hereâ. We just spent money at the business but they had the audacity to say we canât sit and eat it? We asked them why, the reasoning behind it. No answer back! Because there is no justification for such a stupid comment! There was no need for their attitude, they couldâve thoroughly explained in a kind tone what their issue is, and apologised for the inconvenience, but there was no thought of that from any staff member. Back ten years ago, the staff were just as bad. You line up for ages waiting for a staff member to acknowledge you, and finally after theyâve served other customers behind you they pin-pick you last. Always happens here. I hated when local friends wanted to drop in, thereâs just bad, negative vibes at the place and itâs EXTREMELY overpriced. There are much cheaper options elsewhere in Camperdown. I will never, ever, step foot into that building ever again, and neither will any of my family or close friends any more.
Go look at the other reviews from this place, I found multiple in the last few months having the exact same concerns I have regarding the staff and food. If the girl who served us wasnât so rude, angry and depressed looking, had some sort of personality, maybe actually greeted us nicely..? Then I wouldnât of had to write this review. But this was brewing for many years, and it needs to be said how bad they are here. Iâve heard many others in the area comment also on their bad service, overpriced food and how they always choose another place to eat and save this until never. This place needs a fresh take of entirely new staff and their overpriced food revised....
Read moreStopped here for drinks and a few bites to eat with the family. It was busy and we were happy to wait as we had heard great things. The lady who took the order was lovely and friendly. We were given a couple of the baked goods on paying and the drinks arrived quickly after. We were waiting on a toastie and almond croissant. After about 30 mins my wife popped in just to query the last 2 items. We didn't want to seem impatient as they were busy. The gentleman gave her the almond thing and went to check the toastie. After another 15 mins I went in to ask about it and the lady making the coffee rudely said "it would be ready when it's ready" and walked off as I tried to explain how long we had been waiting. I waited 5 more minutes until someone else was free and when I asked was told someone had collected it already. I pointed out they had given me a number for the table and no one in my family had collected anything. Was offered a refund but just requested the toastie. It arrived within a few minutes. Nice enough but not really worth waiting almost...
Read moreThe worst experience I have had at a Cafe in a long time. Firstly this place is expensive, which is fine if the product is good. Not the case. Food was awful. The frittata was so hard it was inediable and was served with a relish that was off. The pie I ordered was solid inside. Dry and flavorless. Everything was over cooked and seemed to have had some kind of solidifying agent added to it...maybe to fill out the ingredients or just poorly made. We were given the incorrect coffee and when I asked the waiter they did not seem to know. Came back and told us they had miss named them and we had each other's. Did not offer to replace. I approached the barrista to clarify if I had soy or not with an (extra shot) and they were very rude and dismissive. No replacement offered again. In the end the soy latte was lumpy and disgusting. The whole meal cost 60 dollars. When I went to use the bathroom there were feces on the toilet bowl under the seat (ended up using the clean public toilets instead). I will never eat here again and will warn others to...
