Disappointing experience – wouldn’t recommend
I honestly don’t know if I can say anything truly positive about this restaurant. The prices are really high, and the food was, at best, average. You can definitely find much better and more affordable places to eat nearby.
The “roasted potatoes” were actually undercooked and floating in oil. The waiter was just... terrible. He seemed annoyed that we even came. Despite the restaurant being nearly empty, he didn’t allow us to sit at a larger table, saying it might be needed for a bigger group. Only two more couples showed up while we were there — and the place is quite large. That really irritated me, especially because the next day, in a restaurant in Berat, the waitress actually offered us a bigger table so we could be more comfortable.
When we asked the waiter for recommendations, his answer was, “Whatever you like.” We asked which side dish goes best with our meal — he repeated, “Whatever you like.” When we asked what he’d recommend for a child, he told us they don’t serve pizza or burgers and that kids can eat “anything from the menu.” But when we ordered stuffed peppers with cheese for our child, he said, “The kid won’t eat that.” Really?
Honestly, I don’t understand the many glowing reviews. I’m giving it a 2-star rating only because the food was passable —...
Read moreFirst of all, this restaurant offers about ten to fifteen meals (a mark of a good restaurant) all of them meat based, some salads, some appetizers, and a single desert. We tried the beef chopsteaks and the chicken with homemade noodles, both of these dishes were delicious, granted the chicken was a bit skinny. The atmosphere was lovely, due to the simple fact that there was no obnoxious loud music, just some quiet guitar in the background, i did take off one star because the restaurant was very hot inside. The staff was professional and nice, though visibly very tired. By the time we were leaving there was a small queue in front of the restaurant, once again,...
Read moreIf you want to try authentic Albanian cuisine, this restaurant will fully satisfy your desire. During our three-week stay in Golem, we visited many restaurants and cafes. Te Bujtina is definitely number one on our list.
Be sure to try the fish with vegetables and the chicken with rice — these dishes are incredibly delicious. Also, don’t miss the chance to try quality Albanian wine and raki (çacha) — you won’t find these drinks in a regular supermarket.
Special thanks to Giorgi, one of the owners (sorry, bro, if I spelled your name wrong). He told us a lot of interesting things about Albania, and by the time we said goodbye, it felt like we were...
