Went here a couple days ago after it was recommended by a local. Reservation was at 6:30, walked in, got sat, all fine. We weren't in front of the water but, since we were in a big group, we realize that we cant always get the tables we want. They take our orders, and it takes a WHILE for the first meal to come out, maybe 45 minutes, but fine. Half our table gets their food. 8pm and people are STILL WAITING. My daughter went down multiple times to ask where the food was and she was told "Its being plated right now. Two minutes." and it would come thirty minutes later. Finally got my food at 8:30, wasn't even hungry. I ordered the seafood pasta and didn't receive all the seafood promised. Those at my table that got it first had about five different types of seafood, I had three pieces of shrimp. Got our bills and they were nothing like the menu. One couple in our group ordered two wine glasses. Wine was brought for everybody, and everybody was charged. 10% gratuity (got charged 24 dollars in tips for horrific service). Also got charged for multiple things I didn't order. Plus, my friend paid in card and instead of being charged 150 ECD she was charged 150 USD. I paid in cash so when I walked up to the bar to pay (as you are told to), I handed two 20s to the waitress (my bill was 38, with the 10% gratuity). I was then asked if I wanted my change. I said yes and the lady looked at me as if insulted. Very unsatisfied. If you come, get the buffet, at least you're not there for...
Read moreMy wife and I have lived in Antigua for a couple of years and came to OJs a few times, we were fairly satisfied overall. That is until we took all of our visiting family to the restaurant, it feels like the quality went greatly downhill. A couple of us had appetizers (seafood chowder and conch fritters) which were pretty good. However, the main entrées for everyone came one hour and a half after we ordered. The last meal was served 30 minutes after the first one, so none of us ate at the same time. Some orders weren't taken correctly. We had to repeatedly ask for sauces and drinks. The allergy mentioned at the beginning was disregarded so a dish had to be sent back and remade from scratch. The seafood pasta was not good at all. One of the dishes had a piece of plastic in it, the explanation given was that it was the top of a cream box, which makes you wonder what's really going on in the kitchen. Seeing some of the other recent reviews it feels like this was probably a bad day to be there, however, due to this experience we will never be going back...
Read moreOJ’s Beach Bar and Restaurant offers a fantastic dining experience with a beautiful beachfront setting. The relaxed, laid-back atmosphere makes it the perfect place to enjoy a meal with stunning ocean views.
I had the fish, which was perfectly cooked—flaky, moist, and packed with flavor. The seasoning was just right, allowing the freshness of the fish to shine. The ribs were just as impressive—tender, juicy, and falling off the bone with a rich, smoky taste. Both dishes were well-prepared and satisfying.
What really made the experience stand out was our waitress, Priscilla. She provided exceptional customer service, was knowledgeable about the menu, and made great recommendations. A small but thoughtful touch was when she offered bug spray for the sand flies, which was incredibly helpful. It’s rare to find such attentive and proactive service.
If you’re looking for great food, friendly service, and a stunning beachfront dining experience in Antigua, OJ’s is the place to be. I highly recommend it and will definitely...
