La Posada de 1820 — Restaurant in Autonomous City of Buenos Aires

We had a great service until the moment of paying the bill. We asked her to charge a certain amount to one person and the remainder of the bill among the others. They came back with $1040 pesos less than they should and when we asked them to talk about it, we were super mistreated, as if the fault of THEM having wronged the change was that we asked to separate the bill. We didn't fight, used harsh words or any of that, all we did was to ask to review the change, but the response was thick and gruff: "you can't tell me to separate the bill like that and complain about the change later" but in a way as if we were stupid for even talking about it. She got so nervous that raised her voice and at the end, after asking us repeatedly "did you understand what you did?" she turned her back at us and went back to the bar. I'm never coming back and I'll always remember this establishment when my friends ask for places NOT to go in...

We read the good reviews and we’re excited to start the new year off with a great meal on January 1, 2020. Our server was very nice and helpful. However, our meals were hit and miss. The Caesar salad had old wilted and bitter lettuce. Only half of it was edible. We ordered chicken with ham and cheese in it but they only had the Veal so my son ordered it. It was well done and like leather on the outside. Only half of it was edible as well. The sirloin steak was delicious! We ordered the pancake dessert, but they were out, so we ordered another one made out of apple and it was pretty good. It seemed like the kitchen was not up to par tonight and the waiters we’re aware of it, but it didn’t get relayed to the customers until the food came. Nearby customers had their food taken back. Honestly a pretty terrible experience!

We ordered: prawn salad - nice, but $13USD for some leaves, cheese and 4 prawns milanesa mozarella - mozarella sticks done in the oven on a bed of tinned tomato sauce… gnocchi with cream sauce - this was honestly so bad it was laughable! We were served packet gnocchi drowned in sauce with no seasoning, that just tasted like eating straight cream. 2 of us only made it halfway through it, and that was combining it with the tomato sauce from the mozarella. We were also given 2 saches of cheese to put on our gnocchi which were thrown onto the table!

The service was terrible, it took so long to get hold of our waiter and he acted like he wanted nothing to do with us. It gets 2 stars for the fact we did eat a good amount of the food (even though it was so overpriced for what we had), and the fact that the...
