The kunjip (더큰집) — Restaurant in Autonomous City of Buenos Aires

I stumbled upon The Kunjip while walking around and was immediately drawn in by the cozy atmosphere and the aroma from the kitchen. From the moment I stepped in, I felt welcomed — the staff was incredibly kind, attentive, and quick to explain the dishes in detail.

The food? Unreal. Every bite tasted authentic and packed with flavor. The banchan (side dishes) were fresh and plentiful, the kimchi was perfectly fermented, and the bulgogi was tender and rich in taste. I also tried their hot stone bibimbap and it was spot on — crispy rice at the bottom, well-balanced ingredients on top, and served piping hot.

The interior is simple yet warm, and you can really feel that this place puts passion into every dish. It’s rare to find authentic Korean cuisine in Buenos Aires, and The Kunjip definitely delivers.

Prices are reasonable for the quality you get, and the portions are very generous. I’d recommend going early or making a reservation — it does get busy, and for good reason!

La comida excelente, muy ricos los banchan (muchísima variedad). No coloco 5 estrellas simplemente porque en nuestra visita solo ofrecían parrilla, ningún otro plato del menú. Soy vegetariana, pero con todos los banchan logre armarme una buena cena... recomiendo hacer tu ssam vegetariano de la siguiente manera: en la lechuga poner la pasta doenjang (apenas untar) junto con un poco de arroz, arriba el kimchi asado o fresco, más brocoli o zapatillo a la parrilla junto con los brotes de soja y la acelga, cerrar la lechuga en forma de "paquetito" y luego mojar apenas en el aceite que te sirven, un manjar. También la sopa (supongo que varia según el día) es apta vegetarianos. A nosotros nos tocó doenjang jjigae (pasta de soja fermentada con zucchini y papa, como proteína: tofu), es de sabor particular y un poco picante, pero es 100% recomendable si queres probar un sabor tradicional de la gastronomía. Si tu preocupación es que tus vegetales toquen la carne, no hay ningún problema ya que la parrilla es bastante grande. En otros comentarios hubo "quejas" por el olor que queda en ropa, pero no fue nuestro caso, salimos sin olor. El sonido ambiente quizás si es un poco a mejorar pero es simplemente cuestión de poner algunos paneles. Nada que no se pueda adaptar.
