Shelby Café Bombal — Restaurant in Distrito Ciudad de Godoy Cruz

I have walked past this place several times but decided to visit on a Friday evening around 7:30 PM. It was very busy but appeared manageable by the staff. I ordered the vegetarian salad which included lettuce, tomato and an entire avocado!! This was surprising considering the amount of fresh produce all around the city. They could’ve added carrots, cucumbers, green peppers, red peppers, red onions, etc. They didn’t have any vinaigrette and I HAD TO ask for salad dressing. The only option was an avocado based salsa. So if one large avocado wasn’t enough, I got avocado salsa as well.

I decided to make the best of the situation and eat the avocado with lettuce and tomato. It was fine just disappointing that the vegetarian salad didn’t have much vegetables. Very lazy.

On a different note, I’d like to take the time to discuss the service. This is probably one of the worst experiences I’ve had in Mendoza. They weren’t rude but they definitely were not attentive. No one came to my table one time to ask me if everything was OK. I had to go to them to order toast.

We came Sunday around 5:30 PM and had a great time.

We were able to seat by a large window, the server was very kind and explained the menu to us.

We got a flat white and a submarino with the 3D design, it was pretty cool and we enjoyed it. Additionally we had a ham and cheese sandwich ( it was normal) and a berry cheesecake which was very good.

The ambience of the restaurant was great, the music and the temperature were adequate.
