Read moreEl Mallin is perhaps the most impressive restaurant we came across during our trip to Argentina. The restaurant was reccomended to us by our AirBnB host. It is truly a taste of authentic Patagonian cuisine. Immediately we were impressed by the decor as we were transported into an old germanic ski town. We ordered beers and started to digest the impressive menu of thoughtfully-crafted, creative regional dishes. After a few appetizers for the table, the trout tartare cones being our favorite, I finally decided on the Porter Beer Braised Pork Tenderloin which was flavorful, tender, and filling. Read moreWas pleasantly surprised. We had just landed in Bariloche on a Monday night and were quite hungry. We hopped on over at 8:30pm and were the only people in the entire place, which made us a little nervous if we had chosen correctly.
The steak was delicious, not quite as good as the Ribeye I had at Carnero a few nights later, but it was better than any steak I had in Buenos Aires (which I should mention I was very disappointed with, even after going to two steak places mentioned in the Michelin Guide). The lamb, potato bowl was also really good.
