Restaurant Atorick — Restaurant in Lori Province

In rural Armenia this restaurant is a welcomed sight. And indeed it is catered to tourists (mostly Russian). Your day trip from Georgia to this region of Armenia will very likely stop here for lunch. I did not see anywhere else along the way except maybe the nearby town with copper mine (huge chimney and abandoned cable car). Nonetheless, we did not have time to explore other than what our guide suggested.

Is it good Armenian dish? I couldn’t say. First time to try it. But overall experience was enjoyable. The local chef in BBQ station would try to offer you a shot of vodka and he won’t take no...

We were visiting the monastery and this was the first place we saw on our way to Yerevan. It looked decent, so we hoped we could enjoy some traditional cuisine.

Honestly, the food was terrible. We ordered three different dishes, and none of us was able to finish our meals.

Don’t know if there are any other restaurants in the area, but I would definitely not recommend...

I wasn't expecting much from a road cafe but was very pleasantly surprised. The staff was fast and friendly, food was excellent (excellent kebab!) and the whole restaurant clean and well-arranged. Great place to stop if you are driving between Georgia and Armenia or visiting Lori. Sorry, no food pics, cause I was too...
