Pete's Pizza — Restaurant in Aberdeen

We were on the long drive from Sydney to Scone for a meeting, and on the way back to Sydney, we were looking for a good place to stop for lunch, even though it was late in the afternoon. Most places were closed, but luckily Pete’s Pizza in Aberdeen was still serving and came highly recommended by a couple of locals.

Tucked away at the back of the local RSL, Pete’s Pizza offers a very friendly and inviting environment, with both nice outdoor and indoor areas. You can sit down with a pizza and a beer and enjoy the fresh air—just what we needed after a long drive.

The pizzas were perfectly cooked with generous toppings, and the service was fantastic. If you’re in the area, my only criticism is that it would be good to see a couple more vegetarian options on the menu but I imagine that’s based on demand locally. I asked on the phone for them to make sure there was plenty of tomato base on the pizza because the last couple I have had from there have been very dry. I repeated myself twice because the girl didn't seem to understand my complaint but I was sure she understood my request by the end of the phone conversation. When I arrived the pizza had very little tomato base and was one of the driest pizzas I have had from there yet. The only thing "premium" about these pizzas is the price. It is clear that bottled italian herbs mix is used. The pizza was a hawiian pizza which consists of ham, pinapple, tomato base and cheese. Not sure how they get this one wrong and justify the price. The last pizza I had from there was a steak pizza with 3 pieces of steak on it. I would love to keep supporting this local small business but it seems the passion for what they are creating...

We found this little hidden gem on the way back from tamworth from picking up some puppies, can I just say this is pizza done right in all ways, the base was crispy in the right places, toppings were fresh and plenty of them and the staff are amazing we arrived at 8:55 and they close at 9 but they were more then happy to stay open and take our order honestly if you every drive past these guys you gotta stop for a pizza or two you won't be disappointed.
