Busy little suburban Cafe located in a non-descript basic group of shops without a good view. Likely popular with locals and appears to have sufficient off-street parking (Forest Avenue is steady). It was a hot day and no doubt staff were fatigued but the greeting and service were unenthusiastic. After specifically ordering a flat white in a mug the barista appeared to have not gotten the message and it was initially delivered in a take away cup. It appeared that the barista was distracted by an ongoing conversation he was having with family / other staff. The coffee itself was average fare and lacked complexity, depth and appeared weak. This place is awesome! Their coffee is PERFECT - gutsy and delicious - exactly as coffee should be; had a toasted ham and cheese croissant that is probably the best I’ve ever eaten (not kidding); service is fast and super friendly and the atmosphere is gorgeously continental. LOVE IT ❤️ As a child in the 60s my family lived around the corner, I often came to come to this exact place - it was a deli back then and mum was always running out of milk! We live in Jury Avenue Rostrevor and have had coffee from here and joined the club. My dughter's boyfriend was visiting from Melbourne and he would only get coffee from here. He claimed it to be better that the coffee in Melbourne. After 7 points you receive a free coffee, more points you receive other options.
