OK it was a busy lunch time and they had to call staff in, but - after taking our order it took 15 min and only then I had to catch the waitresses attention just to get a bottle of water on the table. My wife had ordered with her meal just water. My iced Latte also took 20 or so minutes to arrive and then it was still hot at bottom with just a touch of milk and no sweetner it tasted like a watery cool coffee with a touch of milk - disappointing and hardly refreshing. The ice melted within a minute. Here is the recipe guys:Fill a tall glass with ice, and pour in the freshly brewed espresso. Pour the milk and optional sweetener into a mason jar, stopping when the jar is ¾ full. Seal the jar tightly, and shake, shake, shake. Its not rocket science. Then some 30min after order was given waitress appears to say there was no quinoa and it would take another 15min to prepare for my wife's meal (Breeze Greens $14.90 poached egg, broccoli and spinach garnished with lime juice and served over a bed of quinoa salad, topped with rocket) By this stage the venue was starting to clear out (3pm), she reluctatntly changed her choice as opposed to waiting another 15 min (wed been there 30 by that stage). The chef hadnt informed the floor staff that certain item are off menu or hadn't thought he/she should maybe prepare more quinoa as it was being depleted from the pre-opening prep session. It took nearly 30min after the order was delivered to the kitchen for the message to get back to floor staff that they had to inform the customer that we had to wait or change our choice settling on (Smashed Avo and Fetta on Toast $ 14.90 with two poached eggs, topped with rocket). Showing very poor communication in back room. Gordon Ramsey would have sacked chef there and then. On the up side my grilled barramundi ( $21.50) was nicely cooked and the fries were seasoned. As expected the salad was just a token gesture in a side tea cup sized vessel. The view and fresh air as the name suggests is the main draw card at this place. The burgers look very filling and many pizza orders seem to be flying around. I have eaten there before under old management and whilst the choice has improved the prices are at the top end and one pays the premium for the setting me thinks as is case with Star of Greece down the road, but that's another review for another time. Post Xmas 2022 went back again to see if they've changed. Renovations look good and service was much better. Under what appears to be new owners/ management. However the food is a c+ at best. I ordered a Mediterranean fattoush lamb salad. It was NOT a fattosh it was a garden salad and quite ordinary with one kebab of 4 sma cubes of lamb. Again given the scarcity of competition nearby you'd think they still try and deliver a quality meal and employ a chef who knows how to make a fairly simple Mediterranean salad, and please for the price you'd expect at least 2 kebabs. Not impressed im afraid, I'll be looking elsewhere to invite my visitors...
Read moreWife treating me to Breakfast at Breeze Cafe this morning but was very disappointed with the food and service and poor staff attitudes. We ordered the Big Breakfast with Poached eggs and a side serve of Hollandaise, as well as a Spinach & Mushroom Omelette. - unfortunately not very impressed with either the food or service. Food was delivered to the table and it actually looked so nice that I took a photo - even if it was served on a broken plate....lets hope the big chip of ceramic missing from the lip of the plate isn't somewhere in the food. To begin with, the toast is not buttered on either plate and we have no Salt/Pepper, which we have to ask and wait for. My Mushrooms are swimming in a bath of oil - yummm. The My Poached eggs are stone cold and as I cut into the first one, the clear undercooked, jelly-like white, oozes over the bread and onto the plate....ewwwwwww!. Cold and under-cooked, not a good start. We call over the waitress, who says, would you like another one......ummm yes, of course I do!!! Then she says, do you want one or two eggs?, again, 2 of course? A couple of minutes later, she returns with 2 poached eggs in a bowl....seriously!!!!, what about the soggy cold toast? apparently I am just meant to suck that up! Well these eggs were no better than the first, still under-cooked. I left most of the egg on the plate....The only thing that is warm is the Chai Latte. We go inside to pay, begrudgingly I must say, because quite simply, it was terrible. The young lady behind the counter asks how our meal was today - So I tell her. It was terrible, cold and under-cooked and I hope the raw eggs don't make me sick. She says "Sorry about that guys, I hope the rest of your day gets better".......wow, thanks, we won't be back. In hindsight, a McMuffin meal would have been better and there would have been change...
Read moreWent there for brunch in a group of 9 people, booked well in advance. The young female waiting staff are incredibly nice and sweet and obviously really well practiced at apologising. Because the kitchen is DIABOLICAL. One of our guests cannot eat dairy and so asked for the vegetarian breakfast without any dairy and with scrambled egg that had nothing else in it - just egg. After an extremely long wait the dishes started coming out. Three orders were wrong. The additional sides ordered seemed to be impossible for the kitchen to get right. The scrambled egg, when it arrived, was clearly more than just egg and when the waitress went to enquire with the kitchen she was told that the scrambled egg contains cream. Because it is cooked in a big batch in advance. All enquiries as to why the kitchen couldn't just scramble 2 eggs by themselves to order were met with nothing but apologies. As was the fact that it had come out at all to someone who clearly said "I can't eat dairy". The last plate to arrive was at a time when almost everyone else had finished eating. The incorrect orders came out several times, always wrong. How hard can it be? And just as we thought that the size of the table was the problem - just too many people for this inept kitchen to handle - we saw the table of 4 next to us sending dishes back because they were wrong. At one stage the waitress brought over a dish of ice cream suggesting that this was a dish we were waiting for. It was brunch! No one ordered ice cream. I felt that the waiting staff were being forced to bring out plates to our table that they knew we're incorrect as they were basically apologising as soon as they arrived. To top it off the coffee was dreadful. On the upside the location is gorgeous. It...
