Been coming to Cafe Sia for quite sometime, the food has been up to standards and the layout of the cafe is spacious and comfortable. The only 2 things regarding the food that would be recommended is, if you're going to have things like the Tomahawk that takes over 30 minutes to make, and the expected turn around time to is approx. 90 minutes to eat, put a terms and conditions on it that it can't be ordered 2 hours prior to the cafe closing. Otherwise you may be rushing patrons and setting up for an uncomfortable experience.
Secondly the coffee machine, it would be encouraged to give patrons at least 20-30 minutes notice that the coffee machine will be turning off (due to the store closing), so they have adequate time to drink the beverage. Not 3-5 minutes beforehand, and than the patron feels high anxiety to skull it, and is telling the waitress who looks annoyed that you are still there, that you're going as fast as you can, because she's stalking your table (see feedback below regarding this waitress).
The service has always been HIGHLY rated (it's one of the reasons many return). Unfortunately there is a new young girl there (blonde/brownish hair, freckles, short height and very slim build to help narrow it) who's people skills do need work. She comes across as unapproachable, she looks uncomfortable when smiling or making eye contact, has been seen to speak down/patronize patrons. If it's closing time she stalks your table continuosly and you feel like you're unwelcome and putting everyone out. In addition, if you ask a question about the food and she doesn't know, she just awkwardly says she doesn't know and walks away. The other waitress and waiters would go to the kitchen and find out. We would say something, but being unsure if this girls behavior is accepted we weren't comfortable speaking face to face with management, in worry we'd be shut down and putting it in writing can better explain the situation.
Up until this newest addition starting, all the other waiteresses and waiters have been super stars! They go out their way, nothing is too much trouble, they have excellent people skills and know how to serve food on the table (the new girl needs to learn this skill as well). I mean this with respectful constructive feedback, but the new girl really needs focus on the true Cafe Sia customer service way, because if that isn't there, good food aside, that's apart of why patrons stop going to a venue. I look forward to better outings at Cafe Sia and will certainly increase the Rate of service, when it's back on par 🙂
With that, a very big special mention needs to be made for the young girl (brown hair, short height, small stature, looks quite young) who's often on the floor, she gets a 10/10! Always smiling, very approachable, NOTHING is ever too much trouble and makes you feel very welcome. Training done right there and with a great personality, you've got a super star! It's your crew like these ones that will get those Service Stars to a 4-5, and patrons returning feeling...
Read moreNOPE- expensive, arrogant, don’t care, just give em the money and go away. $8.50 for an average tasting LF medium latte is just simply ridiculous, I’ve never paid that not even in the city. I’ll forgive a lot for a smile and good service but don’t even get that. Gave this place a few attempts to be fair for meals and take away coffee. This place leaves me feeling they just want my money, not me and I’m not valued as a customer don’t care 🤷 if I come back. This is my last visit after paying $8.50 for a very average latte coupled with the ignorant service exceeding the usual blah service. Im pretty sure it was a manager or owner who served me. He just grunted, didnt even look at me, shuffled sideways to the register and started banging keys, no smile, no acknowledgement, no responses to my hellos. Did he even hear me? I felt even more that day, like my patronage was unappreciated didn’t care if I was there or not just hand over the money. I was quite concerned, because he gave me no response when i checked if he heard my order for LF correctly. He was so uninterested and only really interested in pushing the cash register buttons and swiping my card. A non lactose free latte would have really wiped out my day and I would have been PISSED. You can count on most of the staff being very blase and it’s like they dont care if you are there or not. No attention to details. Its is expensive...the food is pretty good but nothing different, not amazing, I could get it somewhere else with a smile and cheaper. Cleanliness is only enough to keep the $$$ rolling in. The coffee is very average and maybe I swallowed the gold nugget that it’s made from, coz i...
Read moreI come here a lot , as its handy to me & i like the taste of the coffee. Generally its made well enough to my liking...some staff are better at listening than others. However tonight i came in, and ordered a Soup. $14. When it was presented to me, obviously in a soup bowl, which are usually a good size, i recieved soup not more than a 2cm height/ diameter as a serve. Like you put the spoon in and immediately saw the bottom of the dish...a lot. There was literally 2cm high of soup in the bowl! ??? For $14 ?? Huh? It was soo ridiculous i took it up to show the girls who both immediately looked at it "Uh oh no! " and took it back to the kitchen. I subsequently recieved a soup bowl of soup.
The point is, having come here since you began this cafe....seen the level of expertise, care etc put in, great staff etc...its really dropped standards your cafe especially in the last year. And u need to know that the word is spreading. It just isnt like it used to be. Maybe y'all let the earlier successes go to your head? Cos seriously, 3 seperate people have spoken to me about the drop.in standard. That means sevice, food, ability to listen and take heed of specifics etc...in fact the lady sitting next to me.right now, had a moan to me about tooo much foam in her latte cos she had 'given up asking for flat white's' quote unquote. She said quality had slipped.
So im just giving u the heads...
