Deep Blue Cafe — Restaurant in Adelaide

Our visit to this restaurant started off on a bizarre note. Upon arriving, we noticed that all the tables in the front had reserve signs on them, which made us think that the place was fully booked. However, we later found out that you need to approach the staff to get a table. This initial confusion was frustrating and made us feel unwelcome.

Things didn't get any better when we finally got a table. We noticed that it still had plates and utensils from the previous patron, so we started clearing the table ourselves (not a biggie). However, a staff member named Simone came out and told us (in a rude manner) to stop and that he would take care of it. Later on, when we tried to put up the outdoor umbrella to shield ourselves from the sun (we had our dogs with us), Simone again came out and told us (in an equally rude manner) to stop. We were taken aback by his communication style and found it off-putting.

On the positive side, the food was decent, and luckily other staff members were lovely. I had a burger, which was nicely cooked and flavorful. My wife ordered a chicken parmy, which was overall good, but the proportion of tomato to cheese was a bit off. However, the frustration we experienced at the beginning of our visit unfortunately lessened the whole experience. We hope the staff can work on their communication and make all customers feel welcome...

My partner and I ordered an easy vegetarian breakfast and a smoked salmon benedict, added 4 extra scrambled eggs. Two cofffes extra shot of coffee and two ojs

Breakfast was bland and on the cold side. Eggs were actually cold and not edeble. A bit hard when all you ordered was eggs and smoked Salmon. We came to this joint two years ago and had good momories. We then then came about year ago and it was terrible. With not many choices to go too around Moana we went back to try again and I can easily say that we will not be coming back. I’m quite shocked that the place was as busy as it was, I’m just hoping for the shops sake that no proper restaurant or breakfast place opens near by. I advise that managment rectify and maybe scan trough your menu pricing as well as the quality or experience of chefs as these aren’t difficult dishes to make nor perfect.

I hope you take this professionally and the day I see a sign saying “under new managment”is the day I will be back. Till then, best of luck.
