Ive never reviewed anywhere ever but felt so compelled to after the dirty looks and attitudes of staff tonight in store..what a joke service was. Firstly the tall dude and blonde chick did rock paper scissors in the doorway for who was to serve me. Then I ordered 3 easy burritos and he had to go grab a pack frm out back..blamed recent rush..all gd. they also turned music on at 8pm ish when i asked why the lack of tunes. (Drive through was currently chill). Tall guy began pressing them wraps and the blonde chick came behind him and waited leaning against the bench, yawned, not using initiative to begin adding toppings such as rice/bean, or ask the following customer in line his order yet..touched her ear and eye before eventually putting gloves on and fiiinally asking the next customers order. The time between just this was about 5mins to achieve nothing..we walked in shop at the same time. Blonde was onto her second customer when the tall guy serving me came back with a half opened tin of japepenos on the bench all flustered mumbling half words to her about how to properly open the tin, she looked at him ridiculously and he went out back and achieved the opening...blamed recent rush again..all gd I spose...he asked my sauce choice and when I asked for my regular half trezigo half verde sauces for each burrito I was told I'd be charged for full extra serves of sauce...this was what finally triggered me after the appalling service so far, so I questioned it and said I've never been charged that in my weekly custom in forever (easily 13yrs), then the guys attitude changed so I asked how long this rule has been in place of which the answer was a year apparently and asked if I wanted the manger...the manager simply made a point of stating she is the new manager and that's the rule..I said the least I could get after this ridiculous service that took about 15mins to make 3 burritos is just the half half sauce incl as ever..the blonde chick took offence and started defending their service and justified lack of hygiene of face touching by wearing gloves before making two customers orders and asked if I've ever worked in a zambreros...well no I have not as I'm actually a national award winning chef etc so I am well practised in personal kitchen workplace hygiene haha!! She then mentioned they're hiring..taking the piss..but it appears she needs someone to train her and the rest of the team as the manager didn't take any responsibility towards the service, stock, attitudes, hygiene or any other aspect. Very disappointed in what was usually my favourite store of yours Tim, and Adelaide. I'm sick of pathetic service by young extremely entitled half trained school kids at the price we now pay for a simple takeaway burrito. Perhaps point out what not to do on the security cam to the team..ie leaning against a food bench with long...

As soon as we came in we waiting for about 15 minutes to be served when we could see and hear the staff talking, screaming, and laughing and it was dead quiet customer wise. We were served by an Indian girl (not sure what her name was my apologies) Once we were noticed by her we were told they didn’t have white rice or beans and the only option was black rice. I said that was fine and we continued making my order but the worker would randomly stop making my order to chat and laugh with her coworkers. I didn’t think much of it and didn’t mind at all as I myself work in a hospitality role and could be reasonable. Once I sat down to eat my burrito the black rice was literally half cooked, some of the rice was soft and majority of the pieces were rock hard and gross.
I didn’t want to complain as I know that things just happen sometimes and can be out of their control. Although I watched the next customer come in and wait a fair amount of time as well until the worker finally decided to come out and serve him after screaming and laughing from out the back which we could all hear. She immediately offered him WHITE RICE AND BEANS after just serving me and saying there wasn’t any and I was so shocked!!!
The way this worker communicated with customers was awful. The gentleman asked her to explain the Big burrito and somewhat made fun of him and just said “uhh it’s big clearly” I understand it can be fun to work with friends. But to give customer service so poorly and offer food options to one and not the another out of convenience to themselves is very disappointing. An explanation as to why there was no white rice or beans would’ve been nice especially as I believe they should be cooked and ready for customers at all time and to top it up when needed. I’m sure if a suitable manager was there none of this would have occurred hopefully and if there was a manager on site, they need to have a chat with these workers. Read moreI’m usually not one to go out of my way to complain or write a review but after a while of not coming to this Zambrero (which used to be my fav) I was really disappointed with the service and food I received. I went through the drive thru (Thurs late night) to order quite a simple burrito yet I received no jalapeños, no guac and barely any salsas, it was mainly rice and lettuce. I was also waiting about 15-20 minutes in totally whilst the 3 girls that were on made the people’s order in front of me as well as waiting for them to actually acknowledge me and let me pay for my meal as well as the wait for the burrito I had ordered. Whilst I was waiting at the window to pay the young girls working were all laughing and talking extremely loudly about not wanting to serve the next person on their headsets ect. This ordeal went on for a couple minutes while I was wanting to pay for my food. Once I paid they finally started to make my burrito which as stated above hardly included anything that was meant to be in there. Seriously poor customer service from these girls, as someone that has worked in retail for almost 9 years as well as a couple of years in hospo on the side I really suggest some better training on customer service and general respect for your customers...
