Step into a world of excitement and nostalgia at Mick O'Shea's Hotel Pokie and Gaming Lounge, where thrilling experiences and charming memories blend seamlessly. As I walked through the doors, I was instantly captivated by the delightful ambiance and welcoming atmosphere of this hidden gem.

Service absolutely terrible. Single mum with 2 kids under 8 out for dinner and every 45 minutes I had to check on meals. Kids hot chocolate was scalding and burnt them both. When I advised staff option was have them taken away and no hot chocolate or nothing. I ordered a baileys on ice for desert… it was tiny. Asked staff if it was a standard 50ml pour as per baileys standard drinks. Very aggressive staff that told me to take it up with the owner if I had an issue but they only do 30ml for $11 for a Bailey half pour. They argued that even though baileys is 9% and that the pour is not more than 30ml when is absolutely is. Also missed the side… mains took 45 mins from entree. Glass of Prosecco admittedly provided by waiter saying this is very flat. Spent over $200 on food for a mum and 2 kids under 8…. The effort of the staff to rectify this situation after we paid $100 in cabs to come for dinner costing over $200 was honestly pathetic. I have worked and ran hospitality for decades and this was terrible even when initially it was constructive and helpful feedback… taken defensively by a bar manager that then lied saying what the other stuff had said I said about being slow etc. complete lies as I wa a constuctuve and positive while trying not to het my meals and my night happy. My children were so upset at the level I had to discuss the issues with your staff considering they were sitting there 3 hours cold, hungry and upset… with burns on their mouth and down their throats due to the boiling hot chocolate and when I complained the only offer was to take them away and too bad. Chantelle if that’s the managers name does not deserve her position. Please feel free to contact y me for...

What has happened at Mick O'Shea's? I am genuinely bewildered. This has been my go to pub for celebration gatherings for over a decade now but after Saturday night I just may never go back. Firstly, we turned up for our booking only to be told it didn't exist. We even had proof on our phone of our call to book. Ok, mistakes happen, someone forgot to put the booking in the system but instead of just finding us a table we were left standing around for over 15 mins until a Manager took over and got us seated (we were offered a table outside by junior staff, but given it was 10 degrees outside and falling we politely declined). So, sorry and here's a couple of free garlic breads. I could leave it there but I couldn't get past the prevailing attitude from all the staff afterwards, that we were now just one huge inconvenience. Food was great, always is, but the menu had shrunk to a point where you were left with few choices and we couldn't even get a Dianne sauce for a Schnitty. Only two sauce choices? What pub ever does this? Not a deal breaker I know, but really? We observed large empty tables around us during our meal and started to wonder just why it was such a big deal to find us a table in the first place. Anyway, we moved to the bar lounge area for our dessert to free up our table even though previously described tables were still empty. The bar area was less clean than what I was used to in this pub and it gave a grimy feel to the place. We continued still getting the overall impression we're in the too much trouble basket from the staff so we ate up, drank up and headed out feeling very uncelabratoty. Way to ruin an evening Mick O'Shea's. Bad form...

I've really only ordered off the 'classics' menu The old rustic Guinness pie with Soda bread used to be my favourite but unfortunately that's changed so I stick to the usual burger or schnitzels This time we decided to venture to the chef choices /specials and unfortunately were disappointed. I never want to be a 'Karen' because I am a chef so I know some nights you're understaffed or some things just happen. The share platters were nice, we have the mac and cheese balls with bacon jam, bruschetta & aranchini. They were all delicious however the bread was over toasted and sliced too thin, it kind of just fell apart and was hard to eat, same with the garlic bread for $10 it was dry, small and hard. Not sure if they had an off night or what happened but the gnocchi did not taste like gnocchi at all It was gluggy, powdery and had no texture of gnocchi at all. Coles gnocchi tastes better and for $26 at micko's it's kind of disappointing. The salmon dish has potential however the salmon was majorly overcooked, hard and way too chewy and the skin was burnt The potatoes tastes a bit old The best part of the dish was the wasabi & yuzu mayo and the greens I will still be back because I love this pub I just will find it hard to have chef selections again The wines and cocktails were absolutely delicious and most of the staff we encountered were lovely and really helpful and apologetic.

Unfortunately this schnitzel would rate as the worst I have had so far in aussie (3months living in Adelaide). I am a quick eater, but it was already soggy and the crumb outer was falling off the chicken easily - with pockets of oil. I left most of the meal on my plate, placed away from me, it sat there until a girl came to collect it and all she says was "thanks maaaate" and never asked how it was, or the reason i had left so much. Next issue, my 2nd pint of Guinness, they had an issue with the tap or gas supply, and my Guinness (not in a branded glass) arrived with brown smudges on top of the normally white foam, and had a weird taste; this could have been my imagination and due to being grumpy about my schnitzel meal that I had been looking forward to all week. I did not finish the Guinness. Poor service, staff more interested in cracking jokes amongst themselves, and with other staff who had finished their shift and were sitting at the bar, than actual good service. I arrived at 8:15pm, and the fella behind the bar couldn't tell me if there was food available or not, and almost proceeded to take payment for my Guinness only - despite the fact I clearly wanted food if it was available.
