Mother India Kitchen serves the best Indian food from my experience. True to their name!!! Quite possibly just as good as Empress of India, once used to be the talk of town in Stepney, where one of the owner's mother used to source all herbs & spices & prepared all rubs & marinades. Here also, you can taste the types of herbs & spices they use in each dish & you can taste the authenticity in their food.
Their butter chicken is next to nothing. It doesn't taste like the butter chicken I've had eaten from other Indian restaurants. You can taste types of herbs they've used. Their tandoori chicken is THE BEST. It is full of flavour, succulent, tender & the tandoori rub they've used took me back when I travelled in India. The smoky flavour brought back so many wonderful memories. Great food has that ability to take you back to the wonderful experiences you've had & so does the bad ones but here the experience since they have been opened always been amazing. This is not just another Indian restaurant.
The service is great. Always. The guy behind the counter & the cook is always very friendly. Greets & very welcoming. I tasted their Lassi and it has real cardamom in it. Now, you cannot ask for more authenticity than that!!!
I hope you stay true to yourself with the food you offer. Your menu is fantastic & the prices are great too. The portions are generous. Just one request. Please keep it authentic as much as possible. Because I love your food and I look forward to coming back for more.
Thank you for a...
Read moreI like Indian Food and enjoy the experience of eating out when I travel. Apart from one India restaurant in Bangalore this is perhaps the best Indian food I have ever tasted. It is certainly the best I've tasted in Australia. The cost was very reasonable and the taste exceptional.
We dined in and had five different dishes. Lamb (Rogan Josh) fish (Malabar Curry) - my favourite, chicken (Butter Chicken, Chicken Tikka Masala) and vegetable (Mixed veg Korma) and the flavours of each were simply amazing.
There were four in our party and everyone was equally enthusiastic about the quality of the meal.
If I have one complaint it was that the staff were very busy serving take away meals, the majority of which were to Indians. Which only went to confirm how good the food is here.
I think this will become a place I will regular visit when coming to Adelaide. Which, as it turns, is very convenient as it is only waking distance to where I normally stay.
But don't take my word for it. Try it...
Read moreThe food is so good here! My partner and I dine in and there's usually a constant stream of people coming in to collect takeaway orders while we eat. The staff are super friendly and accommodating, and nothing is too much hassle. We order a starter, two mains and a shared rice and we're always totally full when we leave, sometimes to the point we can't finish everything. The atmosphere is comfortable and the smells from the kitchen are amazing...they make you want to order more, even though you know you're going to be way too full to eat it! The beer/wine/spirit options are modest but cover most bases, and the pricing is great for the...
