I first started to notice Strappers cafe when more and more of my friends started going there to eat. On Facebook they post enticing pictures of the food they serve so I had to give it a try.
Strappers is less than 15 minutes drive from the city and parking is ample. We parked right out front of the cafe. The cafe is unpretentious with wooden floors, booths and a large dessert fridge that draws you in.
The staff are really friendly and you feel like a local as soon as you walk in. No request was unreasonable. I was there with my parents and wife so we asked for extra plates to share food and to not include onion in our meals which was was easily accommodated.
The food is reasonably priced and the serves are large. My parents are fussy eaters but loved everything. Breakfast is served all day and the scrambled eggs were good. Fish and chips was larger than I expected and the batter was not heavy at all. My hamburger was seriously one of the tastiest I’ve had. The patty was delicious from the first bite. The chicken quesadilla was great with home made guacamole and house sauce drizzled over the top.
Just because the dessert fridge was the first thing we saw as we entered I had to try the desserts and I wasn’t disappointed. The lemon cheesecake and apricot slice was so good. However the snickers cheesecake was perfect. Rich and sweet without being overbearing.
We also met Chad the chef who bought out our food. He was really friendly and was passionate about the food he created. Hint: a winter menu with lots of soup is coming out soon.
Prices are decent and didn’t set us back considering how much we ate. Also, I could see people coming in constantly for coffee so it must be good! I can’t recommend...
Read moreYesterday we made a decision to come to this little cafe for breakfast I applied here earlier this year ( unfortunately didn't get hired but am happily working else were 😊 absolutely no hard feelings). Because I operated the coffee machine before on my trial day I knew the coffee would be good and it looked decent from what I can remember. We ordered breakfast bruchettas and coffee. The coffee came out pretty quick and our food followed about 17minutes after. Coffee was a little cool probably at about 60 degrees which is within the standard protocol but a little warmer would have been nice... Of course in the consideration that some coffee beans can be sensitive and burn when milk temperature is too high. The food on the other hand was a little tough to consume. We ate it all but noticed a few things... The poached eggs were over done ( fair they are hard to get perfect) but also rubbery which makes me wonder if they were microwaved ( have worked in a place that does this in the past). The toast under done and a very stingy spread of avocado. Presentation was great but the eggs were almost inedable. Atmosphere was great ( no music... which we prefer ) Service was great... We were met with smiles but overall experience was a little...
Read moreI recently visited Strappers Cafe, and I must say, it was a delightful experience. The cafe offers great value for money, with decent prices that don’t compromise on quality. Whether you’re grabbing a coffee or enjoying a light meal, everything is reasonably priced without sacrificing taste or portion size.
What really stood out was the friendly and welcoming staff. From the moment I walked in, they made me feel at ease, offering excellent service with a smile. It’s not every day that you find a place where the staff genuinely seems to enjoy what they do, which made the visit even more enjoyable.
The outdoor seating area was a definite highlight for me. It’s spacious, well-kept, and perfect for enjoying a meal or drink in a relaxed, open-air setting. Whether you’re catching up with friends or simply want a peaceful spot to unwind, it’s a great environment to enjoy your food and beverage.
