We visited this place two weeks ago with my husband after a friend invited us—and wow, what an experience! The moment we started heading there, it already felt like we were entering a different world. Surrounded by nature, the path leading in was peaceful and almost magical.
When we arrived, we found plenty of parking space. The restaurant is located on top of a small rise, accessible by stairs, but they also have a wheelchair-accessible ramp on the right side, which is great. The venue has various seating areas—outdoor tables, an event space, and the main restaurant itself.
We chose to sit inside the restaurant and were pleasantly surprised that they offered us a high chair for our son. Since it was a Sunday, the place was quite packed, with many people visiting the nearby falls or just enjoying the area. It's easy to see why—it’s a hidden gem that’s clearly loved by many.
They offer high tea (which I plan to try next time!) along with two hours of bottomless coffee and tea. While we were there, someone was celebrating a birthday in the event space, which is connected to the restaurant. The atmosphere was warm, happy, and peaceful all at once.
For food, my husband ordered the Big Gully—huge and perfect for sharing—while I had the Fish of the Day, a grilled yellowfin tuna. It was absolutely delicious, clearly prepared with care and love.
This spot is perfect for anything: a quick coffee before a hike at Mt. Lofty or the nearby waterfalls, a casual date, or even a special occasion. Highly recommended—an all-in-one experience you’ll want...
Read moreLovely spot with beautiful waterfall however attended a wedding here and guests were left standing around in sweltering heat with no drinks for over an hour, women with heels were having to take off shoes as their feet were hurting from standing so long. The photographer was an hour late and the celebrant wanted to postpone the wedding ceremony for 30 minutes how ever the bride and groom wanted to go ahead with out the photographer and guests were asked to take photos. The photographer did turn up about 1 hour late after the ceremony. All night I was only asked twice if I would like a drink and had to go to the bar to get a drink where the bar staff were rude and asked "what do you want" in a rude manner ended up getting my partner to get drinks because it made me uncomfortable. All night guests constantly had empty glasses wich was disappointing considering the price of the package the bride and groom had purchased. The aircon was not working or not on and we spent the whole night sweating in humidity plus when I tried to get a coffee I was told to wait for cake as it would be served then and it never was. The food was nice except the steak wich was only served medium rare. This is a brutally honest review with hope's it can be used for improvement as if this had been my wedding I would have been...
Read more10 members of my family went to Utopia for High Tea to celebrate my mums 90th birthday. The setting is lovely but comparing to other High Teas we’ve been to previously this was a bit disappointing. Our original waitress was very helpful & the staff are friendly. As there was only 1 other group having High Tea it would have been good to have had the same server attend our table for the entire sitting but a couple of other staff did as well. The savoury tray was tasty but needed more sandwiches. The sweet tray was very nice. More savoury less sweet would have been better. The scones were bought out already with jam & completely covered in cream. A couple at the table didn’t want lots of jam & cream. Some butter would have suited for a plain option & to also provide pots of jam & cream to allow people to cater to their own tastes. Whilst we were designated a set 2 hour time frame, another event was obviously happening later & it was disconcerting that staff were moving tables & chairs & rearranging them around us. It was quite noisy & distracting. Because they were obviously busy setting up, we needed to ask for more coffee & tea refills & extra milk. Overall we had a pleasant time but it was not to the standard we had hoped for & did not feel it was good...
