Our visit was honestly the worst. We were exploring a few different ones that day, spending only about 20 minutes at each for tasting. We arrived at 2 pm on the 30th, with perhaps only three other occupied tables in the entire place, rendering it practically empty. The staff wouldn't even acknowledge us despite standing right in front of them. Finally, when we greeted them, the response was a curt "yes." We explained that we were there just to taste a couple of beers, but were met with eye rolls and huffing. After a seemingly challenging 5-minute task of selecting from over 20 open tables, the staff walked off without serving us when we specified we were only interested in beer, not food. Frustrated, we had to wave down our server 15 minutes later as she stood behind the bar chatting with someone who appeared to be off her face high. When she finally took our order, she walked off before we finished, leaving my husband mid-sentence. With 3 pots between us, I decided not to bother ordering hot chips. Instead, she walked behind the bar and started polishing cutlery. After a 20-minute wait, I was about to approach the bar for our drinks. Catching her eye, I raised my hand, but she rolled her eyes, talked to someone else, and only then did they pour and bring over our drinks. The service was appalling, and we have no intention of returning after enduring over an hour of neglect.

Amazing restaurant that overlies beresford estate and winery in McLaren Flat. The views are breath taking when the weather is good and there is ample seating inddors and outdoors. The menu is what you expect for contempary Ausutralian cuisine with your steaks, seafood, and vegetarian dishes. The drinks list is from the Beresford winery and 23rd Street for the gins. The food is what you would expect for the price point of $100 per head. Recommended dishes would be the t-bone (mayura station) to share, the beer flight and the entree bread. Pictured: - IPA country loaf with smoked bone marrow butter - beef tartare and salted duck egg - morton bay bugs, snoked monkfosh lasagne - wagyu t-bone steak (MBS 7-8) - 400g striploin steak, 50 day dry aged - smoked pork jowl pizza - vale beer flight

So nice to visit a brewery amongst all the wineries of McLaren Vale. A large well built new tasting room with restaurant. They have many beers to choose from. I got a classic beer flight for $20. Along with great renovations come heaps of patrons- it was super busy when we visited and understaffed, the guy at the bar was earning every cent. The staff were excellent. We sat outside on the lawn which was nice, and they have blankets provided which was excellent. ‘ They possibly could have set up more chairs and tables outside- we saw heap stacked around the corner which could have been used. I think on this day, it looked like the number of patrons took them by surprise and they possibly weren’t prepared. Views are great- get a window seat, or if the weather is good- head outside.

Visited Vale Tape House for a lunch outing with friends, including a baby. We were seated under the DJs speaker, to which we kindly requested to move away from the speakers for a quieter spot, given the peaceful atmosphere with only a few groups present. Despite our request, the waitress seemed hesitant, claiming the day was fully booked. However, it became apparent that this wasn't the case as the day progressed. Eventually, at the end of our booking we were told that we could relocate to a table on the lawn, which was initially where we wanted to sit (and had been deserted the whole time we were there). The service left much to be desired. Our order of 2 beef tartare was dropped right in front of us, which an honest mistake and they swiftly took them away to make new ones, but then they proceeded to charge us for 4 servings of beef tartare.

We had to go back for help to correct the bill, when we noticed our card had been charged the wrong amount (we were provided a bill of $292, but charged $302) when we went back and queried the unexplained additional charge they said in between the time of printing our bill and us paying (which was seconds) an extra larger was added to our tab - to which we said that it was clearly an error, but the fact they processed the payment as the higher amount than the bill they gave us is extremely untrustworthy, the discrepancy in the bill should’ve been noticed by the employee. What is worse is the refund will take 30 days to process.

Upon returning home we were emailed a digital receipt and that’s when we noticed the overcharge for the beef tartare.

Overall, while the scenery was great, the service was not up to the same standard and led to a few other issues that could have been sorted well before going up...

It was our second visit in the last 3 weeks, Unfortunately today will be our last. After our table was seated directly under a big dj music speaker, we asked if we could possibly be switched to another table outside & was made to feel like we were a big inconvenience to the staff, we eventually did get moved. It was obviously a busy day for the venue, however most of the staff had no clue & were totally not on the ball with what was going on, seemed like they didn’t want to be there! Maybe new staff? Or temp staff for the day due to big groups to cater for? After one of the staff dropped a plate of food on the table (understand accidents happen) they made us another. But then to review the itemised bill later we had been overcharged for an extra beer & the dish that has been dropped & replaced. When I contacted the restaurant to request a refund, I spoke with 2 staff & was told it would take 30 days to refund the money that was overcharged otherwise I had to make a trip back to the venue! This is very frustrating as I’m sure they wouldn’t wait 30 days for me to pay my bill! Especially when your expected to pay a $25 pp credit card deposit to secure your booking! After speaking with the manger to express my poor experience & frustration with feedback. I was told I was nit picking & basically too bad that was my only option to get my money back! Shocked how this conversation was handled, it wasn’t very professional & I would expect better customer service from a higher end venue like this! This is not some casual cafe/fast food venue, this restaurant is not cheap. Very disappointing! I will not be spending any more money with...
