I have been ordering delicious food from Zarellis for quite a while. It must have recently changed hands. I recieved my order from uber eats a pizza. It was burnt and stone cold. I rang Zarelllis the gentleman said he would make a new one which I was thank ful for however I had to drive and pick it up. Wasn't overall stoked about that as I'd payed for delivery. However I did this. I arrive at the restaurant which had a bout 2 tables full not overall busy inside. However waited ten minutes or so to be served with myself the only one standing at the counter with the cold pizza in the box. By this time I asked for a refund. The owner refused to do this only over uber eats. Which isn't instant. He then turns to the one and only young girl behind the counter and proceeds to tell her off in front of me which caused the young girl to burst Into tears. I said to the manager that that wasn't okay to treat our young people who are moving ahead in life trying to build their skills with disrespect. We don't need people bringing down our youths confidence in society. He refused to apologise to her and stated 'she's my staff'. Well yes she is However you don't have the right to talk to her that way. I hope that young staff member knows she is doing a good job. And after the manager reads this review he apologies to her. I was ok up until that scene. Then I became disappointed. Also with pizza it barely has any topping on it one piece of pineapple on a piece of the pizza isn't much for a Ham and pineapple pizza. I left with the new pizza. I didn't want to stand at a counter and hear a list of excuses. A solution was all. And an appology to your staff. I hope zarellis goes back to being incredible like it was. As this was a disappointing experience. I let the manager know I would write...
Read moreMULTIPLE BLACK HAIR FOUND ON PIZZA!!! 3 out of 4 visits over the last few months have been disappointing. While the pizzas have been quite tasty (up until tonight) the staff have messed up my order 3 out of the 4 times. The girl's in the shop are always chatting to each other and appear to have very little 'care' factor about the order being incorrect. The first incident was that the order didn't go through online so had to be re done when I arrived to pick up the pizza. The manager apologised for this and gave a complimentary garlic bread however both times since then that I have placed a phone order it has been stuffed up. Tonight I ordered 2 x 12 inch pizzas, arrived to be given 1 x 9inch haiwaiin pizza and 1 x 12 inch Zarelli's pizza. So had to wait for 20 mins to have a replacement 12 inch haiwaiin pizza cooked (which I was told would only take 5 to 10 mins). Had consumed most of the Zarelli's Special Pizza when my granddaughter found 2 long curly black hairs cooked into the topping, and upon inspection my daughter found another in the topping (have photo evidence). Goodness knows how many we may have consumed before seeing the hair! Contacted the business to speak to manager however was told he was away so spoke to 2IC, she consulted with manager over the phone and were told to bring Pizza back for a refund. When arrived they seemed to take it as a bit of a joke, 2IC took photos of hair and called manager to ask what to do. After waiting for a few minutes were told they could refund one of the pizza's. While waiting we noticed that none of the kitchen staff were wearing hair or beard nets. Would advise that food hygiene be a high priority in the future as well as customer service. Unfortunately we will not be...
Read moreI’ve been in Adelaide for just under a month as a tourist and Zarelli’s has become my go-to spot for both coffee and meals. The staff are always friendly, and the relaxed, quieter atmosphere makes dining here feel more personal. Service feels extra attentive because of that, which adds a lot to the experience.
I’ve had main meals here which come out in massive portions and are great value. Breakfast is my regular choice, especially the avo on toast, which is always fresh and consistently good. Coffee is reliable every time, which is why I keep coming back most mornings.
The menu has plenty of variety. My vegetarian sister always finds something to enjoy, and there are gluten-free options as well, which makes it a convenient choice for everyone. The food is generally excellent, though some dishes can vary slightly depending on the day. Even so, the overall quality and the welcoming atmosphere make it a consistent favourite.
Zarelli’s also feels like a local spot. Many of the regulars are from the older community nearby, and it clearly serves as their go-to place. That gives it a grounded, community feel that’s different from the busier cafés around the city.
It’s been one of the highlights of my stay in Adelaide, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for generous portions, dependable coffee and a quieter...
