The Thirsty Farmer — Restaurant in Baradine

I stayed at the Thirsty Farmer for one night when passing through Baradine. The hotel and pub are nestled in a beautiful and historic country style building on the main road, a short walk to shops and services. The team was very welcoming and friendly when checking me in. Room and common areas including amenities and veranda seating are all clean and looked after. I had dinner at the bar downstairs which offered great meal options. Went for lunch after reading all the positive reviews with high hopes. The reality didn't live up to expectations unfortunately. The food was reasonably priced, but more like a meal i would cook at home (not restaurant quality). There was only 1 young girl doing all the cooking for 4 customers at the time we were there. They didn't have vegies as a side for our schnitties, and my meal took 45 minutes to be served. My wifes schnitty took another 15 minutes. Great pub nestled on the foothills of the Warrumbungle mountains. We stayed two great nights in the hotel rooms upstairs. Took the kids for a beautiful bush walk in the morning and was back in time for a delicious lunch. Hot tip- order the angus beef burger, it’s fresh and very moreish!
