KBR's Licensed Restaurant — Restaurant in Bargara

Tucked away in an unassuming corner of town with in Kelly's Beach Resort, KBR restaurant might not catch your eye at first glance, but it certainly captures your taste buds. While the decor could use an update—the furnishings feel a bit tired—the experience is a delightful surprise from start to finish.

The menu boasts fresh ingredients, and each dish reflects that quality. We ordered and shared bruschetta for entree, the rump steak meal, generously portioned, perfectly cooked, and full of flavour. The salt and pepper calamari was tender, with a nice crisp, and the accompanying salad was fresh and well-dressed, also in a good portion size.

Despite there being only one waitstaff on the floor, the service was friendly and efficient. Meals arrived in good time, and the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming.

Overall, if you can look past the dated decor, the food and service make this spot a hidden gem. Definitely worth a visit for anyone seeking great meals...

I recently visited the restaurant and ordered the Crispy Skin Pork Belly with roasted chat potatoes, fresh steamed vegetables, topped with macadamia nuts and a cinnamon & maple glaze. Unfortunately, the meal that I received was far from satisfying. The sauce wasn’t a sauce was more like a soup and was overpoweringly sweet and tasted like pure maple-flavored syrup, and the pork belly itself was tough and difficult to chew and was lacking the “Crispy Skin” it was more like boot leather pork belly on a chat potato and a few carrots and a broccolini soaked in a bath of pure maple syrup. Additionally, the wait for our meals was over an hour, which added to our disappointment. Despite the friendly staff, I couldn't help but feel let down by the overall experience. I only had two bites from my plate and didn't eat anymore. The rest of the meals at our table of 7 were just as disappointing. It's unfortunate to say that I would not recommend this...
