Barham Bakery — Restaurant in Barham

We unfortunately had a very bad experience with the two ladies on a Sunday afternoon on our way out of town after staying in Barham for the weekend. It was 20 minutes until closing time and they had removed all the tables and chairs from outside. We had arrived with 7 adults, a child and two dogs. We were told straight away that we could only pick from what is left (we were ok with this but it was shouted as us as soon as we walked in) and when I asked if we could take some chairs outside to eat with our dogs we were told absolutely not as they were closing at 2pm (it was 1.40). This "customer service" was actually appalling and it left a very bad taste in our mouths from a great weekend away. Mostly all of us walked straight out the door without ordering apart from one of us who had already ordered in this time (who said to us later that the pies weren't very good anyway). Very...

Don’t ask for any ‘tricky’ coffees. The woman behind the counter sternly said she didn’t want to ‘muck them about’ with a difficult order. I smiled and placed my preselected cold drinks on the counter and said, “I’d hate to muck anyone about, so rather than mucking you about, I’ll go elsewhere.” She came back again about mucking the coffee makers about, so I repeated what I’d said and turned to leave before she even agreed to ask the coffee makers. Lovely country bakery, service with a smile and quick, it was just after 12 noon. Salami sandwich was beautifully fresh and that was out of the fridge so it was only just made, my coffee even though I got a latte instead of a cappuccino was perfect for me and it was my choice to take it. The only reason that I didn't give 5 stars for food was that Hubby who is a fussy pie eater thought his Steak and onion pie was not the best he'd had.
