Beautiful mixed entree, duck stir fry and amazing sticky rice for dessert. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The prices are very reasonable for real authentic thai food. Reminded me of good memories from my holiday in Koh-Chang Thailand and eating sticky rice at the markets in Ban Bang Bao on the water. I will be trying the Tom Yum Goong next time I am in Barham.

Now for the update.. The Happy Elephant got so involved with another elephant that they forgot about us! Our main meal was a tasteless bowl of some veggies with ONE prawn and a handful of chicken & beef pieces So disappointing. We got no apologies or an offer of another dish. Organised kitchen chaos We will NOT be back.

Grabbed some takeaway from Happy Elephant Thai. The meal was somewhat different to the traditional Thai that I have had before but was quite tasty and would certainly give this place a go again, I would probably eat in and enjoy the BYO option

An unexpected little surprise Thai Restaurant in the country. I visit many authentic Thai restaurants and the food is superb cooked with such excellence that i always revisit. That is how amazing food should be. It should make people want to go back for more. Happy Elephant food and waiting service could do with improvement. Our 2 bowls of coconut rice came out cold. My partners duck was tough to chew, his meal was warm. My meal was ok, abit bland and missing a lot of spices. The dessert was awful. Banana and sticky rice with icecream needs to be removed from the menu. It's not made fresh! The icecream was freezer burnt as well. I don't think the chef's cooking skills are great. Why is kitchen staff dressed in dishwashing clothes clearing tables while guests are eating? Why is the trainee girl with the glasses drinking water from the fridge behind the bar where all the patrons can see her? Felt sorry for the only waitress on because she was not only training the new girl, she was waiting on tables, taking orders, clearing and resetting tables AND doing the takeaway orders as well. New girl needs to go. Sorry Happy Elephant but i can't say my eating experience here was a satisfying one. Upskill the cook and hire people with strong skills and passion. Hire...

Firstly second time back, first time 40 min. wait for a basic meal. Gave them the benefit of the doubt, we were seated and ordered our meals after being deliberately ignored to cater for locals after 30 minutes, had to ask 3 times for wine glasses, then proceeded to watch people being served meals an hour after we first there, continued to wait for 1 1/2 hours we decided to leave and inform owner how disappointed and hungry we were, with no apologies or a care in the world tried to give us a bag of scraps to smooth things over, NOT ON. Get some class and get...
