My Mother and I dined here for an improptu lunch. We did not have a booking but we got lucky, and we were able to be seated. The setting was glorious! The views were stunning and I loved the white linen table clothes. Such a luxurious touch.
The menu had a good selection, not huge, but enough to make a nice choice. (I still couldn't decide! ) You choose between 2 course or 3 course lunch. We opted for 2 course, thinking we could add the dessert if required. We didn't, we were nicely full. We just decided to finish with a coffee instead.
I ordered the octopus for entree, and im so glad I did, I still think about it! So well cooked, tender and flavorsome. Bravo chef! Ill be back just for the entrée octopus!
I ordered the mushroom risotto for mains, after a recommendation from the cellar door...it was delicious as promised. I ordered the reserve chardonnay to go with it and I enjoyed both greatly.
Wait staff were efficient, and very warm & friendly. They were busy, but we did not mind, we never felt neglected, (in these covid times, everyone is think is down staff-we dined at a time where close contact rules were at their highest) But we had nowhere to be that day and it is refreshing not to be rushed out the door but to sit and enjoy a very well deserved lunch, and I think we sat there just saying, "how nice is this" ? most of the time.
Im so excited to have this new chef in the swan valley. I love new business doing special things, especially in this climate, and ill be supporting this...
Read moreWent to Upper Reach for a twilight concert, and left unimpressed. We selected the restaurant option, which offered amazing food, but it was let down by the service and the ambiance. The restaurant has so much potential, given its location, but is just a plain room with cheap tables and chairs: Absolutely no personality or vibe at all. In terms of the service, the prices indicate the restaurant fancies itself as fine dining, but the staff are wandering around wearing random t-shirts, sneakers, and one even had bicycle shorts on for an evening service. The overall look of the staff was messy and disjointed, and the theme carried through into their attitudes. We had several people ask us the same question, and food was slapped down on the table without a care. At one point, we ordered a third bottle of wine, and the server literally rolled her eyes at us. Before the concert had even finished, the staff were clearing tables and stacking chairs around diners still eating and drinking. Then, not even 15 minutes after the music finished, we were told we had to leave as they wanted to close up and go home. Sadly, the fantastic food is not worth going back for when the...
Read moreWe recently held our Wedding Ceremony under the big gum tree in the middle of the vineyard, and our Reception at the Treehouse Bar.
We had a morning ceremony and lunch reception with a very relaxed and chilled vibe. Drinks & Canapés on the Treehouse Deck was absolutely perfect.
Ryan (Head Chef) was our main contact throughout , answering all my queries and ensuring everything was ready to go on the day. The food was incredible. We went with a canapés package, and there was so much food over the afternoon. So amazing.
We have had lunch there a couple of times prior to the day, which was always delicious! The canapés on the day were just as delicious, if not more so! We have had so many fabulous comments from our guests on the quality of food, beautiful venue and helpful staff.
We are so glad we picked Upper Reach for our venue. It fit our casual, relaxed, friendly vibe of the day just perfectly.
The wine is delightful. The food amazing. The staff so helpful and accommodating.
Thank you for helping make our wedding day the most incredible day of our lives. See you again one day for...
