"Visiting The Bean & Barley cafe was a delightful experience for our family of four! The cozy rustic ambiance made us feel right at home, and the breakfast was simply delicious. They serve one of the best coffees and chai we've tasted, which added to the enjoyment of our morning, and the brekkie burger was huge! Highly recommended for a warm and inviting start to your day!"

Found this cafe by accident and it hit the trifecta! Good food, good coffee and exceptional service and friendless. But best of all, it is dog friendly! as we were traveling with our fur baby this was very helpful. Highly recommend you stop here on your way through

Rustic inside, dog friendly outside and friendly staff who also love pups. The coffee was great. The Smashed Avo was simple but delicious. Definitely get the poached eggs with this. Crispy bacon on the Fully Loaded Bacon & Egg roll made it amazing.

I am going to start of with the positive and then get into my bad experience! The coffee is amazing, very nice feel when you walk in and the blonde lady who has her kids in there each morning is AMAZING too she is so friendly and warm and makes you feel welcomed she is def the MVP of that cafe!

Each morning i would go in and get coffee and peanut butter toast. easy right, well you would think so. 1st morning the toast wasnt toasted and 1 slice with peanut butter and 1slice without 2nd morning i asked can you toast it a bit longer, it came out toasted and with barley any peanut butter again so i basically was eating just bread. 3rd morning i ask if they could put peanut butter on my toast because i cant taste anything- which sounds ridiculous but i didnt want another morning with just eating plain bread. which it came out not toast again but with peanut butter. i thought to myself seriously how hard is it to get peanut butter toast like seriously..... 4th morning ( i prob should have given up BUT the coffee is good) i made it very clear about my experience the past few morning! and all i want is TOAST with peanut butter which the lady was so rude in her response.

So when she brought out my order the lady goes very passive aggressively here you go, you can do it yourself and was making smart remarks regarding my complaint and hands me a knife with 8 small packets of peanut butter. So i paid a premium to do it myself when i should have just done it at home.

If you cant get the little things right then you wont get the big...

I went in this morning looking forward to some top quality sourdough toast and happy to pay the $10 for it. Received my toast but the topping was incorrect (it had butter only). I took it back and the server started arguing about what I asked for. Once they, with a poor attitude, agreed to amend the order (and whilst complaining about not charging for the peanut butter) they grabbed a peanut butter sachet and put it in the take away box and handed it back to me. I’m not sure about you but if I’m paying $10 for a slice of sourdough toast, I would like the peanut butter applied… maybe I’m fussy. When I told the server as much I got the same poor attitude. I decided all in all, it wasn’t worth it. It’s hard times and I didn’t receive the service I paid for so I asked for a refund. I paid with card ($10.11) and the server tried to refund me a cash value if $9.95. When I insisted the refund be of the same value and back onto my card (hard times) in line with Australian consumer law the server complained that I have to pay the extra for the card transaction and that they didn’t know how to refund via card. After what I see now is almost comical, I walked out without my money or my toast determined not to waste my time...

A group of us having been coming for the snow season for 5 years and have regularly passed through Bean and Barley. For these 5 years, the customer service has been appalling and the lady with the short straight hair and glasses has consistently made us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. She treats tourists with no respect and appears angry that we would come into the shop to order some breakfast and coffee. As we were waiting to order, the same lady allowed locals to push in front of us to order and pay even though we’d be waiting in line. Also, there was no respect for first in first served, she made everyone else’s coffees before ours even though we were only a group of 5. We have been going on every year and we have given it a chance at the start of every season but are always disappointed, nothing has changed and we will no longer be supporting this business. The fact that you don’t accept keep cups because “covid” but you accept cash (and tips) and none of your staff wear masks is incredibly hypocritical, have some...
