Ah, gather ye round, fair denizens of the dining domain, For a tale I shall tell of a place so divine, Where the service shone bright, like the sun’s golden ray, And one name, in particular, doth surely hold sway.
’Twas a restaurant most grand, in a corner so sweet, Where the tables did glitter, and the air smelled of meat. But lo, ’tis not just the feast that brings joy to the soul, For ’twas the service that made my heart whole.
Jemma, a maiden, both fair and so bright, Did tend to our needs with all of her might. Her smile was as pure as the moon’s silver gleam, And her voice like a song—a most melodious dream.
With a flick of her wrist and a graceful step near, She’d fill up our goblets with nary a fear. Her manner was gentle, her presence divine, Each word she did speak was as sweet as sweet wine.
“O, what shall ye have?” she did ask with delight, Her voice a soft balm, both soothing and light. No rush did she make, nor impatience did show, She stood by our table, her movements so slow.
Each course she did bring, with flair and with grace, Her eyes shining brightly, a smile on her face. The soup, a fine broth, as warm as a spring, Brought joy to the heart—a most joyous thing.
The mains, oh my word! How splendid they were, The lamb with the mint and the duck with the fur! But it was not the food that did most captivate, It was Jemma, whose kindness did truly elevate.
She asked not once, nor twice, but thrice, How could she make our dining more precise? With patience that matched the calm of the seas, She listened with care, putting minds at ease.
Her service, impeccable, truly a marvel to behold, Was better than riches, more precious than gold. She attended to each, with diligence rare, Making all of us feel that we mattered with care.
Her hands moved with grace, like birds in the air, No task too great, no service too fair. She danced ’round our table like stars in the night, A shining example of service done right.
But hark! What of her spirit? What of her heart? ’Twas a treasure, indeed, a true work of art. For in Jemma’s eyes, there shone such a fire, A passion for service that none could acquire.
Her wit was like lightning, sharp and so fast, Her charm, like a spell, a spell that would last. And her laughter, oh heavens, it rang out so clear, It lifted the spirits and cast out all fear.
Now, dear friends, I must pause to commend, For Jemma’s service did never end. She brought joy to our hearts, and a glow to our face, As if she herself were an angel of grace.
And so, let me tell ye, both humble and true, That the food was superb, but ‘twas Jemma that grew Our experience from good to divine, For with Jemma in service, all’s simply sublime.
’Twas a night to remember, a feast fit for kings, With a service most grand, full of heavenly things. And Jemma, oh Jemma, thy name we shall sing, For thou art the jewel, the crown, the true king.
So if ever ye find yourselves near this fine place, Remember young Jemma, her warmth and her grace. For no finer service than hers could be found, She’s the heart of the restaurant, where joy...
Read moreWent out for dinner on Saturday night for my mother’s 60th birthday with all our family and friends, there was about 26 of us. I ordered the scotch filet cooked well done with mash, veggies and mushroom sauce. When I got my meal the first bite of the steak was a bit pink but fine to eat and then the second cut into my steak was medium/rare. I never usually take a meal back but this time I did. I told the head waitress and explained my meal and she told me they will cook me a replacement but no apology or sorry was said. She took my plate and told the chefs my steak was meant to be cooked well done. 10 mins later my replacement meal was placed in front of me at my table and it was the same scotch fillet steak I originally had on my plate with my cut marks on the steak from my first two bites. I wish I took a picture of this now but I guess I was in shock that somehow they cleaned all the mushroom sauce off my steak and recooked it on the grill and served it back to me thinking I wouldn’t notice. Everyone at my table was shocked this had his happened. The steak was tasteless and not even seasoned.
The general chat of our large group was the food wasn’t that nice and was quite tasteless. My nephew ordered the Mac and cheese pizza on the specials menu and he said it didn’t taste nice so he couldn’t eat it. Others who ordered steak medium/rare said their steak was though and not nice.
The food was quite disappointing considering I paid $44 for scotch filet and then for the same steak to be recooked.
When the band started at 9pm it was only my family and friends on the dace floor with the kids as they love a dace with the loud music and lights, the head waitress came up to the kids on the dance floor and said they are not allowed to dance on the dance floor for their own safety they had to walk away to a carpet area if they wanted to dance. The kids then were not interested in dancing if they couldn’t dance with all our friends and family.
Later on in the night this same head Waitress came up to a lady that was short and told her that kids are not allowed on the dance floor and tried to kick her off the dance floor and the lady said she’s not a kid she is 40 years old. The waitress walked away with her head in her hands but we all found her quite rude and wrecked the atmosphere for everyone.
Our group won’t be back the service was quite rude and the food below average. Not worth wasting your time and money!
Edit! Just to add to this! I am pregnant that’s why I requested to have my steak cooked well done. I would usually have it cooked medium rare. Hence why I had to...
Read moreAs many have said, the bar and wait staff are an asset. Very welcoming and friendly. We were Table of 6 and the place was 3/4 full. Ordered ceaser salad, garlic prawn hotpot, meat pizza, and burger. For whatever reason the burger was served in two halves, with the top bun hidden under salad. We assumed the top was missing. Friendly staff pointed it out though. Probably the best dish 3.5/5 Onto the ceaser salad, had two long toasted bread sticks in place of crunchy crusty croutons, the lettuce was just over date, and was dark and wilted in parts. Really, the lettuce needs to be the star of the dish. It was served with a precooked poached egg that was cooked dry and served whole and cold. No anchovies. 2/5 Garlic prawn hotpot. The garlic prawns were great, but there were only 6 of them. Served with one slice of toasted bread which was then dipped in an oil. Not great. Some salad and another piece of non oily toast 2.5/5 Meat pizza. Was just confusing as the base was way too thick. It could have been rolled into half its thickness and would have been perfect. As it was it was neither a deep pan fluffy base or traditional thin and crispy. The result was stodgy heavy and filling. We left half, and also noticed many other uneaten pizzas left on tables. 2/5 Come on chef. Look at the dishes coming back to the kitchen as either being sent back, or simply not eaten. Nobody wants to waste time or money especially over the holiday season with loved ones. The atmosphere is great, wait staff are wonderful, and the prices are about right. Management and head chef should come together and sharpen the execution of these classic pub dishes to really lift the...
