The lady who served us was nice, however my partner asked for a frappe to which they said they have & proceeded to give him what seemed to be milk and chocolate sauce blended ? Wasn’t cold, and definitely NOT a frappe. Not sure what happened here. The pies were very mushy - as if I was eating almost raw pastry. Besides the top which was a little crispy. Texture is off. After the disappointment of the pie and drink we went to try our “chocolate croissant” which is what we asked for & the lady even responded back with “chocolate croissant” just to open it up and realise it was some sort of apple pastry which neither of us will be eating. Not sure how this has happened either ? Very disappointing - we were driving through the area and thought we’d stop for some Brekky. Not the best start to our morning. Will not be back.

My partner just brought home 4 "big" tarts from Davies Bakery, each not much bigger than the 50-cent piece in the photo which also shows the receipt. These cost $6.15 each. Each! No, there was no price on the tarts evident prior to purchase and had there been, there's no way she would've bought them. Also, she bought two donuts, so including the EFTPOS surcharge, afternoon tea cost nearly $30. I'm sorry, but that's just too expensive.

This is a very popular bakery with a good range of bread, cakes, pies, freshly made sandwiches, and rolls. The bread is really good here! I haven't tried the coffee yet, but there were people coming just to buy the coffee, and it was clear they were regulars. There's a pleasant outdoor covered seating area where you can sit to eat a fresh salad sandwich or roll. It's a quiet tucked away spot.

SERVICE DISAPPOINTMENT The staff are always friendly & helpful.

However, last week I arrived twice to drive away empty handed after waiting over 10 minutes each time.

MASK MANDATE Ok, it's inconvenient to wear a mask, but it was mandated for ALL Queensland's from 1am Monday..... Monday 20th December 2021 The first time I attempted, there were a long line with 40% of the customers not wearing a mask. I sat in the car to see if the line would reduce, but the service was very slow. I was disappointed to see two of the girls serving inside the bakery were also not wearing a mask?

2ND EXPERIENCE SAME WEEK Myself and another customer left after waiting in line for over 10 minutes.

DURING OUR WAIT An older woman was there with 2 young children waiting on a pie.

A family all without face masks were seated waiting on drinks and walking back/forth for their order items.

A woman stood talking and ordering during the entire 10 minutes at the cashier.

There were a number of staff behind the counter. Yet, service was extremely slow.

NO FACE MASK A young female staff member approx 15/16 years of age was serving without...

I wish I could give more stars but pastry was quite average. Coffee took way too long and it tasted terrible, I had to request a refund, I could not drink it and they did my order wrong first time around. Variety was quite poor.

To your reply: the coffee was undrinkable, it tasted burnt and watery, as a barista myself I can identify a good one from a bad one. Calling that coffee just “bad” is a compliment. And also she took for bloody ever and there where not even many coffees before mine, and did my order wrong first time. Lucky I already got my refund. For the pastry I had the apple pastry, which was nothing memorable, I have lived in this area for 6 years and always drive past by your bakery but never tried it, I only did because a friend told me to go grab breakfast, completely ruined my breakfast. I would not recommend nor ever...

Davies Bakery is a great bakery and I visit it every other day on my way to work to buy bread rolls for my lunch. But it's not just their bread rolls the cream doughnuts are the real deal not just bread with cream and jam. The savory danishes are great for breaky as are the scrolls both sweet and savory, I even buy the cakes for morning tea at the office on occasion and the office staff love everything I buy from here. This is a real special find so if you ever drive down Toohey road stop in and try something you won't be disappointed I promise. This is not one of the franchise bakeries where they seem to make all their variations with the same dough, Davies bread is different textures and you can also taste the difference like a soft burger roll is not the same as a tiger roll. This is own by a baker who cares about...
