I’ve been a regular at this bakery, visiting every other week, but my latest experience was so disappointing that I won’t be returning. I waited in line for 10 minutes, and while everyone else was greeted warmly and served efficiently, the moment it was my turn, the employee became completely cold and dismissive.
I purchased a loaf of bread and croissants, but was not offered a bag. When I asked if I could have one, the employee mumbled, handed me a bag with no courtesy, and left my items scattered on the counter. As I struggled to open the bag with one hand and put my bread inside, she gave me a look of annoyance and began serving the next customer before I had finished. It was both rude and unprofessional.
Now, I can’t help but wonder why the service was so different when it came to me. I’m a woman who wears a headscarf, and frankly, this felt like a clear case of discrimination. I’m deeply disappointed, as I’ve always enjoyed this bakery, but this experience completely ruined my Saturday morning. I can easily find another bakery that serves good sourdough without the attitude. It’s a shame, because I’ve supported this place for so long, but I will not be coming back. I won’t tolerate being treated this way, and neither should anyone else.
Goodbye, and I’ll be sure to...
Read moreMy family are regular customers at your bakery , we often grab breakfast there on the way to drop the kids at school. Sometimes there’ve been small issues like a missing item or food that’s not very clean, but because we’re always in a rush, we never said anything.
However, over the weekend we bought some lunch from your shop, and one of the sandwiches had lettuce with dirt still on it. Since we were eating at home this time, I took some photos (attached).
Your prices are quite a bit higher than other bakeries, which we’ve been okay with because we thought we were paying for good quality. But expensive and not clean just isn’t acceptable.
I hope you can take this seriously and make sure ingredients are properly cleaned...
Read moreI’d heard good things about this place, but it is so overpriced for the standard of product.
We are happy to pay a premium for excellent food experiences, but when we decided to treat ourselves with a visit to this bakery, we were left disappointed.
We chose about four single-serve items and a loaf of bread, which came to nearly $50. We would have been fine with that had those smaller items been as delicious as they sounded, but they were all underwhelming, lacking in flavour and just felt overly heavy. The only part of our purchase that I enjoyed was the bread.
This place has done a great job of building a cult following among the locals; I personally think people only go there to be seen spending $8 a piece on...
