I drop by here frequently. The staff are always friendly and willing to get to know their community.

It has an amazing vibe here if you’re local. I live in the area and am always welcomed as a local regular.

While you won’t get amazing coffee art the coffee is above the average, especially, chain stores like Cups and Wells down the road.

The baristas know what they are doing and they use a La Marzocco which is more than enough to get good coffee… and having sampled some of the coffee around Brisbane Hedge is above the average for coffee.

It’s not an Espresso Bar as such but they always try to create a really good vibe and the staff/chef always recognise good, local regular customers.

I appreciate the customer service alone by itself. Each place is a little different and I’ve tried Super Numerary and Black Sheep as regular destinations so in general know what good Espresso should taste like do this place...

SECRET LITTLE CAFE IN THE BURBS

Its a little quirky with picket hedges lining a window and small flower pots.

SERVICE Heard the chef without seeing him, discussing on the phone loudly on specker with someone else what flavour yoghurt to purchase.

A young teen staff member handed me a menu. She was friendly & answered my questions.

ORDERING Order and pay at the counter

ATMOSPHERE The seats inside are very close together and "cosy". There is no such thing as private conversations in the cafe with no background music.

ATMOSPHERE TIP Take headphones or ear plugs if you are solo and need to focus.

FOOD Duck pancakes. Thin small crepe like pancakes filled of duck on a bed of coleslaw with crispy onion.

DRINKS Iced Coffee Small scoop of ice-cream with a little whipped cream. Not too sweet.

OVERALL Quirky and clean. Nice decor and cushions to make seats more...

Over 200 reviews, 4.5 stars, once in the area we couldn't not give it a try. The place looks good and the staff was nice and friendly. The reason for the 3 stars lays in the food we had: A slice of yogurt/lemon cake and some waffles. The first was a bit dry, like if it had been there for a while, but ok. The waffles were just supermarket ones, overly sweet, with a few slices of strawberry, a scoop of ice cream and maple syrup. Considering the photos and the great reviews, we expected at least some in-house made ones, but it seems to be harder and harder these days. For sure we must have been unlucky, but based on that visit, we cannot agree with the great reviews. Other than that, we had a smoothie and an ice café-latte, both...

Rocked up to this place with couple of my mates with the hope we were going to have a decent breakfast meal before making our track to Gold Coast. We rocked up around 10.40am and inquired if the staff could let us order from the lunch menu - we were told it was too busy and if I waited we could get it - 10minutes later we went up to the counter I asked again since it was 10minutes before 11 if I could order the roasted pumpkin soup I received the same message. Not sure why they couldn’t accomodate the request but I was left disappointed. The food portion was incredibly small for the amount we paid, but I suppose this is what we are getting now thanks to inflation! I also order a cappuccino which leaves a lot to be desired!

Heads up Brisbane/Ipswich, this suburban secret is about to get a shout out! On a corner in the lovely suburb of Salisbury is one of the best Cafes I've ever been to. It's cosy, so much so there were blankets on the chairs to snuggle on the cold rainy day. Every meal was well presented and absolutely delicious at a very reasonable price. The meals were prepared and delivered quickly. And last but not least the staff were welcoming, courteous, professional, friendly and happy. They're open early to 2pm most days. Do yourself a favor and put Hedge at the top of your to-do list.
