I drop by here frequently. The staff are always friendly and willing to get to know their community.
It has an amazing vibe here if you’re local. I live in the area and am always welcomed as a local regular.
While you won’t get amazing coffee art the coffee is above the average, especially, chain stores like Cups and Wells down the road.
The baristas know what they are doing and they use a La Marzocco which is more than enough to get good coffee… and having sampled some of the coffee around Brisbane Hedge is above the average for coffee.
It’s not an Espresso Bar as such but they always try to create a really good vibe and the staff/chef always recognise good, local regular customers.
I appreciate the customer service alone by itself. Each place is a little different and I’ve tried Super Numerary and Black Sheep as regular destinations so in general know what good Espresso should taste like do this place...

SERVICE Heard the chef without seeing him, discussing on the phone loudly on specker with someone else what flavour yoghurt to purchase.
A young teen staff member handed me a menu. She was friendly & answered my questions.
ORDERING Order and pay at the counter
ATMOSPHERE The seats inside are very close together and "cosy". There is no such thing as private conversations in the cafe with no background music.
ATMOSPHERE TIP Take headphones or ear plugs if you are solo and need to focus.
FOOD Duck pancakes. Thin small crepe like pancakes filled of duck on a bed of coleslaw with crispy onion.

The reason for the 3 stars lays in the food we had: A slice of yogurt/lemon cake and some waffles. The first was a bit dry, like if it had been there for a while, but ok. The waffles were just supermarket ones, overly sweet, with a few slices of strawberry, a scoop of ice cream and maple syrup. Considering the photos and the great reviews, we expected at least some in-house made ones, but it seems to be harder and harder these days.
