Came here in a group of 6 for lunch on a Friday afternoon and faced a number of issues. One person in our group ordered a glass of Moscato. When it arrived, she had a sip and it didn't taste right so she asked a waitress who then told her that they were out of moscato and that was a sav (I think?) No one asked let her know they were out or if she would like something else, a different drink was just brought over and given to her.
Following that, we ordered our food. roughly 15 mins after ordering, we were told that the fish special was no longer available. Okay, this happens, would have been good to know a bit sooner.
2 members of the group ordered the lamb salad. When the salads arrived, they both had chicken on them instead of lamb. We asked a waitress where the lamb was and were told that they were out of lamb. That would have been good to know much sooner as we would have chosen to order something else. No one came over to ask us if we would like something else or tell us the lamb was out, we were just presented with chicken salads. The waitress, when told, said "oh... so is it okay?" The salads were already in front of us, bit late. Additionally, lamb is more expensive than chicken and we were not offered a partial refund or drink or anything so the entire thing left a bad taste in our mouths.
Giving 2 stars instead of 1 because the calamari and chips were nice, as were the burgers, but the service and communication...
Read more25 June 25 Recognition should always be given to were its deserved it and the Team at Kitchen 8 has raise the bar, their friendliness and attention to detail, service and food has been delightful, currently is my to go cafe in the area considering there is another 2 closer to me. I want to thank you guys for your friendliness and great work. Well done Team!
17 Oct 24 I am always strive to be fair and with Genuity I can say that the service at Kitchen 8 has improve it considerable. Since my last review, my self and my team have noticed the sense of importance to help people through the take away area, thank you guys for the improvement and good work!
We have been visiting Kitchen 8 for about 2 months now and my self as well other people I come along too, find our self’s often disappointing with the luck of service, attention to detail but more important the luck of understanding the customer; looks like the team there lives in another time and space inside the cashiers and kitchen, often 3 and 4 team members in the take away area talking about their personal life’s before addressing people waiting to be taking their orders or even taking actions on what they have ordered. We have witnessed this there most times while we wait for our take always.
Please take this as a feedback and not a complaint of the opportunities on your hands to take this...

It was such a busy happening place with most days difficult to get a seat inside or outside, and now it's a ghost town in comparison... I just don't understand why so many changes would be made to a place that had such a good vibe and reputation - If it's not broken, don't fix it... I really tried to give them the benefit of the doubt but after several visits, there are just too many things to name.
My colleagues and I loved the bacon & egg roll + coffee deal. First they removed the deal for a while, then they put it back. The bacon and the cheese on the burger seem to be different and it's gross, the coffee brand has also changed. Even the hollandaise they use for the benedict seems to be bottled and not made fresh every day... Also, where is the smoker?? I used to love seeing and smelling the smoker every time they were cooking brisket......
