Kool Beans Coffee in Wynnum is hands-down the best spot for Bahn Mi in Brisbane. They use super fresh ingredients, pack in heaps of toppings, and deliver unmatched flavor in every bite. Whether youâre a Bahn Mi enthusiast or trying it for the first time, you wonât be disappointed. Their menu doesnât stop thereâthe chicken wings are absolutely amazing, crispy and packed with flavor, while the potato scallops hit that perfect balance of crunchy and satisfying.
The spring rolls, available in both small and large sizes, are another standout. Theyâre packed with fresh fillings and fried to golden perfection, making them a must-try. And letâs not forget their Vietnamese iced coffees, which are as authentic and delicious as the ones Iâve had in Vietnam! Theyâre rich, bold, and refreshingâthe perfect drink to accompany your meal or just enjoy on its own.
The variety here is fantastic. On top of their standout Vietnamese options, they serve regular coffees made with care and precision, alongside a great selection of drinks from the fridge for those on the go. Itâs the kind of place that caters to everyoneâprofessionals looking for a quick yet quality bite, tradies grabbing a hearty meal, parents out with their kids, or anyone who just appreciates top-notch food and drinks.
Kool Beans Coffee nails everything they do. From the friendly atmosphere to the consistently incredible food, theyâve got something for everyone. If youâre anywhere near Wynnum and in need of a feed, this is the place to be. Highly recommend checking it outâyouâll probably become a...
Read moreThe food was fairly averageâmore in line with a quick truck stop than a relaxed cafe experience. The menu consisted of basics like a bacon and egg roll and a few pre-made items from the fridge and cabinet. Itâs a takeaway-only setup, so itâs not the kind of place youâd go to sit down and unwind.
The service felt a bit off. The woman who served me appeared visibly upset, which made the interaction feel uncomfortableâperhaps she was having a rough day or was stressed.
On a positive note, the deco was nice, especially for the area. Unfortunately, the hot chocolate was underwhelming and I didnât end up finishing it.
Overall, this spot is more suited for a quick grab-and-go bite on your way to work rather than a destination for quality food or a relaxing atmosphere.
Edit: Itâs clear the owner feels defensive about the âconfusionâ regarding what constitutes a cafe or coffee shop. Iâd suggest revisiting the definitionâby standard, any venue serving coffee and food should offer an inviting space for people to relax. When feedback is dismissed so quickly, itâs not surprising the environment feels flat and staff seem disengaged. Also, please improve on your English orthography. It was quite difficult to piece...
Read moreEasiest 5 stars review ever - didn't even have to think about it. First and most importantly - the coffee - I had a flat white - it's smooth, not bitter, great choice of beans, you can even buy Thier blend of beans in store. A pleasure to drink and savour. Second - had a crispy pork bahnmi - do yourself a favour and get one. Fantastic 5 stars on that as well. Crispy bread, ACTUALLY crispy and crunchy crackling - and a good amount of meat ! - not overloaded with mayo like some others, and I've seen a trend where many bahnmi stores will do a "chilli relish" which is just not that spicy or flavourful - when I eat a chilli, I want that kick, that burst of spice, a bit of heat , and often get disappointed - this place does FRESH Vietnamese chillies with a kick. I got extra chillies and coriander - phenomenal flavour - and a good price point. Lastly , but not least, very friendly staff, happy, smiling, great service, and will give you tips on the best way to get your order faster through Thier order options. Well done. Brisbane needs more...
