Lanna Thai Restaurant — Restaurant in Brisbane City

I was really looking forward to dinner but was miserably disappointed. Pad Thai had a lot of gravy and was sour, basil stir fry was bitter, salty and the aniseed flavours was so over powering we couldn't even taste the basil, the fried rice was wet and sloppy and the duck curry was salty and flavourless. I hope the owners are reading this because I would really like to come back again but only if you ensure you are serving delicious food. This was not worth it. Also there was so much MSG that we already have ulcers brewing on our tongues. The curry puffs were good but the spices in the filling wasn't cooked enough as it still tastes raw and the pastry was odd one curry puff was puff pastry and the other was a hard pastry. The table we were sitting in was shoved in the corner of the room. Knowing that we requested a high seat tells you that we have children. So the table that was given to us was cramped and made it hard for the kids too.

Positives, we did enjoy the coconut Juice, it's the same brand we buy which comes from a packet! The portion sizes were GREAT! And the prices were reasonable. Prawn chips were delicious too. The staff are wonderful! So polite, attentive, kind, and very customer service oriented!

It would take a lot of convincing to dine here again. Sorry but...

My fiance and I had our first date here over 5 years ago. I recall loving everything from the amazing food, friendly staff and great prices. 5 years on and I am extremely pleased to say that nothing has changed! I ordered the panang curry mild. As always, it was creamy and well cooked. My fiance ordered the yellow curry which was also amazing. We got one curry each, coconut rice to share (which was the perfect amount for two people) and a coke, and it was still under $40!! I can't recommend this place enough to anyone who loves delicious food, fast friendly service and very fair pricing. After all these years and multiple visits, I still can't find anything negative to say We will be back again and again for many...

Good food, slow service. Went to Lanna Thai with the family for my birthday dinner. The staff were polite and the place looked nice - unfortunately, we were placed in a dark corner of the restaurant and waited over an hour for our orders to arrive. By the time we had gotten our food, the restaurant was practically empty except for one other table; we had waited and watched as the other diners made their orders, ate their meals and left. We even watched as people walked in to order takeaway and got their meals before us! It's a shame, because the food itself was good; however, having to wait so long for our orders plus feeling forgotten about and ignored means that we will probably go elsewhere for dine-in thai...
