Pepperbite Bracken Ridge — Restaurant in Brisbane City

The best Indian food, not only in Bracken Ridge, but perhaps in Brisbane. As someone who hates butter chicken it was a real surprise how much I enjoyed Pepper Bites version.

I have had their Kadahi offering with various proteins. Always excellent and perfectly tender.

As a well documented carnivore it is difficult to admit, but every vegetarian dish I have had so far has been exceptional and well worth getting to supplement the 2 meat curries I always order.

The wait staff were lovely and appropriately attentive. All requests were attended to quickly and accurately.

The beer offerings were limited to 2, with Kingfisher being the best choice.

We went on a Monday night for the first time (we usually order takeaway) and we were they only group there. The decor is clean and the seating area well planned, with ample space between tables.

There is outdoor seating, but without heaters this would be a no go in Winter.

We went on a Friday evening as a group of 4 families (8 adults & 6 kids). Service: First order was placed around 7:40 pm and we only started receiving the orders from 8:55 pm. Took a lot of time to wait. Food quality: We ordered Tandoori Chicken (Full) - it was raw and hard to chew and we had to return it. Daal Makhani - It had a smell of old used oil. Chicken Madras: The chicken was hard. Non-Veg platter: Lamb was raw. Chicken Biryani: Chicken was very stale. We returned it. Veg Kofta: Was good Uppam: was good. Service was very poor, there was only one person handling customers and she was more interested in taking orders rather than serving orders already sitting on kitchen window for 10-15 mins. This looks like a family business and they are barely able to manage. There was 1 more table of guests alongside ours, and later 2 more tables were filled, so a total of 4...

We have been there a few times and never had an issue or concern with service or food. There was a waitress last night who was quite young and just was not a people person. We brought our family who was visiting from the UK here and felt embarrassed to have brought them here considering how it felt here. From not bringing the right beverage and then having to wait half an hour for them to correct it to it being difficult to add to our order as it was after the kitchen closed, even though they still hadn't finished making our food. We felt frustrated by the lack of friendly customer service. I was also annoyed that one of the food items we always ordered has been gluten free but this time they told us it was not....
