The Pop-up Cafe on weekends and holidays at the base of Mount Coot-tha is a nicer option than the summit Cafe. Its a great place to sip good coffee with maybe a bite amongst the greenery after a run, ride walk or just a visit . There is plenty of personal space. On Sundays Bruce's (owner) band plays great music ina pop up marquee music. Bruce himself is a musician of some repute. The coffee is reasonably priced and seating available with overflows at the nearby grounds . Public facilities are close by. Plenty of parking available though one has to squeeze in by the roads at peak times in the mornings.

We stopped here during our Mt Coot-Tha loop ride. The Summit Restaurant was very busy, this is a good option at the mountain. Popular with runners, walkers and bike riders, located adjacent off street car parking. Outdoor style light tables and chairs and picnic tabls. Nice food-truck setup, snacks and coffee. All up a pleasant place to sit and have a coffee at Mt Coot-Tha.

Loved this little set-up! Stumbled upon Via Retro when testing our new hiking boots at Mt Coot-tha. Ideally located away from the hustle and bustle with plenty of parking. The Apple Crumble slice was spot-on and this caters perfectly for those of us hiking in the afternoon when the other cafés are closed. Friendly staff and relaxed vibe.
