It's almost lunchtime, and dealing with my son's picky eating habits means we need a place with either pasta or rice and chicken. Considering the limited restaurant options on Bruny Island, we were relieved to find a spot through a Google search. To our surprise, we saw some photos of Momos and we were eager to find out more on that and thought they might have a Thali option so that our son can enjoy rice and ghee if he don't eat anything else. Surprisingly, the restaurant is owned by Nepalese couple just right next to a stunning view of Adventure Bay.
We decided to try on butter chicken and rice, and my son happily eat enough for him. I needed to finish the remaining. I'm not usually a fan of butter chicken, but this dish was on another level – it felt like there was some magic happening in the chef's hands. My wife had vegetable Linguini and she also felt something magical and said that it was Awesome! We were really impressed, so I suggested the couple to open more restaurants, especially in Melbourne so we could have such delicious good more often. I wanted to try Momos as well but it was finished so may be I will try more options from this Restaurant next time.
If you find yourself in Adventure Bay, don't miss this restaurant, and take the time to explore the beauty of Adventure Bay itself. It's a win-win experience!
To Chefs: Please always continue to make the food with this current standard. Quality goes a long way!

Read moreMy mother ordered an almond hot chocolate, as I heard her order and the lady behind the counter came out with a almond cappuccino. I said this was not what we ordered and the lady that served us agured that my mother ordered the cappuccino. The lady then gave an option of us paying for another drink, which I refused to pay for her mistake. Then the manager came out and stood over us arguing that we made the mistake and that we were rude. I have never felt so embarrassed in my life and would never treat customers in my 16 years experience in hospitality. We decided to take our food away as we didn't want to sit there listening to them talking about us in their own language. Do yourself a favour and don't bother coming to this Cafe Very...
Read moreWe were keen to stop in for morning tea on our trip from Hobart. The signs directed us to Mari but the sight of the building was not a good start as we passed an abandoned car to make our way to the entry ramp. After a warm greeting from the hostess we ordered coffee and tea with a carrot cake. When we inquired about the size of the aforementioned cake as to whether it was suitable to share we were told that it was '150grams and not small'. I requested to see the offered cake but was told in no uncertain terms that I could not and if I "didn't like it I could go next door to buy something from the grocery store". We persisted and purchased the cake which was just acceptable but was served with an evaporated...
