Where do I start? The lady at the front desk at check in was lovely but she warned us about the grumpy manager, and wasn't she right. For the only powered caravan on the island, boy it needs a tidy up. Amenities block, shower heads leak. (Cheap options at bunnings would fix it) There was no hot water one of the nights. After wasting $5 between us, we gave up and called grumpy bum. Offered to refund out of pocket expenses. The water is brown. And lucky we were in a caravan as we had enough water to cover our 3 day stay. The grounds, I know it rained but a few loads of gravel to raise the camp sites would be a great investment. Saves coming in lakes. Bruny is a great island, but this park is not. Next time we will park at the snug caravan park and do day trip to Bruny Island. Staff are much friendlier and grounds aint a mud pit, and free clean Amenities. So we are in no hurry to return.

Staff 5/5, we arrive very late and the people leave the keys and explained all very well đŸ«¶đŸ»

Stayed here for 4 nights from Fri 23rd Feb. Kerry in reception lovely. The park is in a fantastic location. Our site (42) right opposite the bay. Was a nice large site. The park is in the process of being sold. It is in need of some TLC. Bathrooms need renovating and general clean up all around. Can’t comment on cabins. Camp kitchen passable but once again needs updating and good clean. New laundry facilities needed. But despite this we would stay again. Love the location. Showers nice and hot ($1 for 5 minutes) which is ample time. Or you can just insert another dollar. $3 per load washing. Machines old, but worked fine. Dryers $4 per 45 minutes. Again old, but worked fine. Nice restaurant, supermarket and bowling club within easy walk from park. Would stay again. Reasonably priced.

Vacation | Family READ THE 1 RATING REVIEWS BEFORE BOOKING HERE. I must admit, I am somewhat skeptical when I read really bad reviews, but in this case, I would believe every bad review written. There is a definite pattern of abusive behaviour from the male employee. Location is great but don’t be fooled by that. Our visit lasted less than 5 minutes due to the rudeness of the man in charge 11 days ago. Completely unprovoked - he clearly just didn’t want to be bothered having us there. There’s no other explanation. Such appalling behaviour that we very quickly decided to leave only for him to park his golf buggy across the road and stand in front of our vehicle blocking us from driving away. I have a strong feeling he was intoxicated. This was after my daughter tossed the amenities key to him upon request that they be returned so he decided to THROW the hard end of a power lead in her face after he took it upon himself to unplug us despite us asking him to leave it and we would do it ourselves. He was so hostile we didn’t want him touching our belongings. Such a vile, intimidating and threatening human being approaching 2 woman in such a manner. Then he wanted to charge us for electricity and water despite the few minutes we were there and hadn’t even taken the hose out of our vehicle yet. Don’t waste your time. This man was disgusting and that’s being polite. Caught the whole thing on video just in case as we did not feel safe and feared things were escalating to the point he may have become physically violent . One star is too generous for this behaviour but unfortunately you can’t rate zero stars. He said he didn’t care if we reviewed him or not because nobody reads them anyway. Maybe the regular lady is nice but she wasn’t available and this man certainly doesn’t know the first meaning of customer service. With only one caravan park on Bruny Island at this exact location, I am 100% certain this review accurately relates to...

Honestly disappointing as this was a fairly decent camp ruined by rude owners. Overall it wasn’t the best grounds but we were keen to return on our way out of Bruny for the facilities, travelling on the road a lot what they had to offer was quite a luxury. Unfortunately we had 2 interactions with the male owner both extremely unpleasant, one upon our exit that has definitely left a sour taste. The lady we met upon arrive was perfectly fine, quite helpful. The man however is one of the rudest people we have met in Tasmania yet. You cannot go around speaking so horribly to paying customers, it’s very disappointing to see this behaviour from a fully grown man and small business owner. We hope you work out whatever is going on in your life that is making you so miserable you feel like spreading it around. You have the bones of a very good business here and it’s a shame that you’re ruining it.

The camping area was waterlogged in numerous spots during our visit and the grounds were mostly dusty sand with very little grass. A couple fire pots around. $30/night for an unpowered site.

At first impression the facilities were great - clean and lots available - showers have fantastic water pressure (extra $1 per 4 minutes but they tell you it’s 5 minutes). There’s a laundry (extra coins also) and the kitchen has 2 fridges (1 isn’t turned on), 2 kettles, 2 microwaves, 2 stoves, an oven, pizza oven, 3 dining tables, 2 lounge areas and a tv with netflix, youtube etc. and fireplace. As more people arrived all the facilities were constantly dirty, obviously visitors need to do their part to keep common areas clean but seems they don’t have enough maintenance to keep up with the amount of people staying (on the wall is written that they clean between 11am-12pm everyday...

We stayed a night here. We don't drive but joined the day tour to and from Hobart with a special arrangement to drop us at this accommodation after the adventure cruise at 3pm, then picked us up on the next day at around the same time. We probably were the only visitors on Bruny Island without cars, haha! ||Before our stay, I had read a lot of negative reviews about the male host, saying he's rude and would scold guests. We didn't have such experience, fortunately. We found him kind and caring, normal, he advised us the best place for stargazing and southern lights (we didn't see unfortunately for the cloudy weather). ||Our room is a 2-bedroom that can accommodate 7-8 people. The room is very good for us (2 people) with heater, hot showers, TV, heater for bedding. Well equipped with kitchen. Wifi poor (as our house is away from the reception). I could hear the sea waves in the bedroom facing the main road / the beach. ||One bad thing well noted is the poor quality of tap water which is yellowish brown. So we didn't cook or drink it. The guests next to our house (Malaysian couples that we don't know) also knocked our door and asked if we also found our water dirty. ||There's one restaurant nearby (Mari cafe) and a grocery store within 10 mins' walk. Around a half hour walk will reach the spot for boarding the adventurous cruise and a more decent restaurant for dining. ||It's a very quiet accommodation and island during our stay in mid June (low season). Only 2 groups of guests (us and the Malaysians).||Overall it's a good idea to stay a night in Bruny Island. It's a nice stroll along the beach and enjoy the tranquility. Not much choice of accommodation for us who don't drive. We enjoy our stay in this Captain Cook...
