We order breakfast for takeaway at least once a week from tailwinds. The food has always been a little hit and miss, sometimes the breakfasts wraps are toasted and sometimes they're a little soggy, sometimes the eggs are soft-boiled like it states on the menu but most of the time they're hard boiled. But like I said, we do order the food for takeaway most of the time so some of the inconsistentcys like those i've stated above are understandable. In saying this I have been a regular customer for over a year, trying to support local businesses although after thismorning I dont think I will be continuing to do so. My partner went in to get us both some breakfast, however, there were no breakfast wraps or breakfast burgers available at 9am and they were unable to make them. The lady at the front counter spoke to the chef and said that they could do a bagel with bacon and egg so my partner said that will do and the lady started adding it up on the till. In doing so the costs of a ham and cheese bagel were cumulated with the cost of extra bacon, extra egg etc. bringing the total to almost $30 for one bagel with bacon and egg on it. Keep in mind the usual price of a breakfast wrap or burger is around $13. My partner obviously said that he is not willing to pay for a ham and cheese bagel with all these extras on it. The chef then came out with an untoasted bagel that they had made prior to the order being finalised and was not happy that he didn't want the bagel any more (im going to repeat here that they were trying to charge us $30 because I'm still completely taken back by this myself). The staff were apparently quite rude and this wouldn't be the first time they have acted as if simple requests are an inconvenience. This is however the first time I have said something because as a previous hospitality worker myself I try to be understanding. I have however reached my limit and will not be supporting the price gouging and rude treatment of local customers who are trying to support a...
Read moreWe are locals so have been here quite a few times. To be honest it’s sort of a hit or miss with food. The cakes are lovely, the lunch menu is good, but the breakfast is lacking. The meal size is quite small considering the price, at a typical breakfast place I can pay the same price and get a lot more. Only one small slice of toast for the eggs Benedict and eggs on toast just isn’t really cutting it. The pancake is just awful, there’s a reason why pancakes are the way they are. It’s way too big and thick which results in it either being raw or dry. I’ve heard the French toast and the tailwinds breakfast is nice but unfortunately I don’t think we will be going back for breakfast. Otherwise the club sandwich is great and the cakes are so delicious! The setting is nice and the service is polite. Could do with a uniform to make it a little more...
Read moreThe coffee has always been delicious and served with a smile at Tailwinds Cafe. This is a hidden gem in the area with a brand new suburb and property development occurring close by. The views of the country side add to the peaceful setting and it’s a great spot to have a coffee with friends or host a buisness catchup. The outdoor settings are perfect in winter on a nice sunny day and then inside is perfectly air conditioned to escape the unbearable summer heat. There is always parking available in this quiet street which is nicely hidden away from the busy Great Northern Highway. Once you have finished coffee, treat yourself to a walk along the hidden and surprisingly good walking trail that follows the little stream, across the road from Tailwinds Cafe.
