IGNORED. Not the way to treat visitors to your town. I just came to order a coffee and a late breakfast. I do have my dog with me (Cavoodle) so stood at the doorway and waited to be approached. That didn’t happen, so I spoke to a staff member and said I would like to place my order. I waited for her to continue with what she was doing. I waited. 3 staff members from the Shire walked in after giving my girl a pat. They went to the counter and were able to place their order. I waited. Still no service. A gentleman coming out after getting his take away, asked had I been served and I replied that I didn’t think they wanted my custom. Eventually the girl came to me to take my order. I spoke to her and asked why they were served first and was told ‘because they came to the counter’. I replied, ‘I spoke to you already, can’t come in due to having my dog and felt being ignored was rude and obviously the cafe did not want my business so I will go elsewhere’. Which I did. Capel Bake house were...

Lovely little cafe in a lovely little shire. We had an iced long black, iced mocha and fruit toast. All very satisfying even though the mocha arrived with an unexpected scoop of vanilla ice cream in it.

When we arrived, chef was frying up something fierce so all the indoor seats smelled of frying. But not to despair, they have outdoor seats in a lovely backyard garden, which was very agreeable on a sunny day with cool breezes wafting about.

There's also a wide selection of merch to browse and buy. I got my mum a tote bag and myself a coin purse, both I believe are handmade by an artisan named Jill, whose name was on the price tags.

After fuelling up at the cafe we took a pleasant walk to view their public library across the street, a couple of shops along the street, and their newsagent where many customers were buying...

I last reviewed Capelberry Cafe four years ago, and since that time this already excellent cafe has enhanced its already very fine offerings. The main menu options seem more adventurous than ever, and yet will still satisfy a mainstream diner - my wife doesn't normally experiment with unfamiliar food, yet found the lemon chicken sandwich perfectly to her taste, and finished the lot (it was huge!) Which brings me to the generosity of the servings. Even Americans, who are used to supersize everything, would be very happy with the country-hospitality size of these meals. Finally, the staff - what an awesome, friendly team of ladies! Tell you what, you do your little town of Capel proud! After a too-long enforced absence, we can't wait till our next opportunity to pop into Capelberry and stuff ourselves...

Best spot in Capel and surrounds, I'm sure. We've been visiting Capel and The Capelberry for a few years. But today's experience has prompted me to post. This is a really human place, smiles, and thank you's abound. Good value, too. I ordered the Work Burger because, Hey! We're on holidays, together with a "Cleanse" juice which had coconut in it which I like. The burger was HUGE, see photo, and very good. If I had a suggestion, it would be that the bun was not as good as the rest. My wife ordered the Chicken Cakes and cold slaw. She loved it, and there was plenty to eat The juice was great, as was the burger. We'll be back. While I'm at it, my wife - who is a textile artist - fell in love with the various handbags and other works on sale, she ended up buying one, which I like.

Was visiting Capel and decided to stop in and have a cuppa and a little bite to eat. So glad we did because we had a beautiful chocolate friand and a piece of carrot cake and a lovely Chai Latte and mocha. The cakes were gluten free and the drinks were very well made and hot as we had requested. The cafe has inside seating and sidewalk seating and has lots of local art and products as well as friendly staff. I highly recommend the Capelberry Cafe if you are passing through Capel. There is also an awesome new skatepark and children's playground very close by if you wanted to get a takeaway and let the kids have fun whilst you sit in the shade.
