IGNORED. Not the way to treat visitors to your town. I just came to order a coffee and a late breakfast. I do have my dog with me (Cavoodle) so stood at the doorway and waited to be approached. That didn’t happen, so I spoke to a staff member and said I would like to place my order. I waited for her to continue with what she was doing. I waited. 3 staff members from the Shire walked in after giving my girl a pat. They went to the counter and were able to place their order. I waited. Still no service. A gentleman coming out after getting his take away, asked had I been served and I replied that I didn’t think they wanted my custom. Eventually the girl came to me to take my order. I spoke to her and asked why they were served first and was told ‘because they came to the counter’. I replied, ‘I spoke to you already, can’t come in due to having my dog and felt being ignored was rude and obviously the cafe did not want my business so I will go elsewhere’. Which I did. Read moreLovely little cafe in a lovely little shire. We had an iced long black, iced mocha and fruit toast. All very satisfying even though the mocha arrived with an unexpected scoop of vanilla ice cream in it.

There's also a wide selection of merch to browse and buy. I got my mum a tote bag and myself a coin purse, both I believe are handmade by an artisan named Jill, whose name was on the price tags.
After fuelling up at the cafe we took a pleasant walk to view their public library across the street, a couple of shops along the street, and their newsagent where many customers were buying...

The main menu options seem more adventurous than ever, and yet will still satisfy a mainstream diner - my wife doesn't normally experiment with unfamiliar food, yet found the lemon chicken sandwich perfectly to her taste, and finished the lot (it was huge!) Which brings me to the generosity of the servings. Even Americans, who are used to supersize everything, would be very happy with the country-hospitality size of these meals. Finally, the staff - what an awesome, friendly team of ladies! Tell you what, you do your little town of Capel proud! After a too-long enforced absence, we can't wait till our next opportunity to pop into Capelberry and stuff ourselves...
