Balti @ Boulevard – A Disappointing First Visit As someone who appreciates good food and takes genuine pleasure in trying new restaurants, I had reasonably high hopes for Balti @ Boulevard, especially as it came recommended by a friend. At 60+, I’ve had my fair share of Indian meals and also served on an Indian aircraft carrier for 6 months both casual and more refined restraints, and I like to think I approach each new experience with an open but discerning eye. We placed our order over the phone and were pleased that it was ready for collection within 30 minutes—a reasonable and efficient turnaround. The initial impression on opening the containers was actually quite positive. Portion sizes were generous: eight onion bhajis, each larger than a golf ball, and four meat samosas, all nicely presented. However, as we began to eat, the meal unfortunately started to unravel. The onion bhajis, while visually impressive, were cold in the centre and slightly undercooked. A shame, as they had the makings of something excellent—good size—but ultimately fell short where it mattered most. The meat samosas had a pleasant flavour and a well-seasoned filling, but they were excessively greasy. It's the sort of thing that lingers unpleasantly, and not in a memorable way. As for the main event, the beef vindaloo—advertised as hot—it certainly lived up to its billing in terms of heat, but lacked the depth and richness I expect from a well-made curry. The flavour was more commercial than authentic, as though it came from a base rather than having been prepared from scratch. The meat itself was sparse and inconsistent: some pieces were uncomfortably large, others chewy, with visible gristle and untrimmed fat. It hadn't been cooked long enough to soften, which detracted significantly from the experience. The accompanying saffron rice was disappointing too—not well mixed, with a large proportion of plain white rice suggesting a lack of care or attention to detail. We served the meal for two, and while it was filling enough due to portion size, the quality simply wasn’t there. In the end, it was a letdown. I had hoped for something more refined or at least hearty and satisfying. If you’ve not dined often at more authentic Indian establishments, it might just meet the mark. But for those of us with a bit more experience and expectation, it misses. Sadly, we won’t be returning.

Quick service, 3 stars for service and best tandoori roti. There is room for improvement in their Daal tasks, it does lack flavours big time. Couldn't smell any flavours. Their menu has a lot of printing errors as Daal tadka's description says cucumbers along with onion🙄🙄. Very friendly staff and service. Will give it another try just to see if other curries has flavours or not.

Extremely disappointed , I used to go here all the time but haven’t been for a couple of years. The Chicken Korma was watery and certainly not the colour or flavour of korma and the there was no sign of any dried fruits in the Kashmiri nan and the garlic nan was over cooked. Will not be back.

As an avid Indian food lover as a family we order a curry takeaway most weeks . This place was Recommended by a friend I called this evening to ask a question about a curry listed on the menu before I ordered.I was looking to order online once my question was verified. Whoever was on the line could not understand what I was trying to ask . Eventually she understood and i heard her ask the chef. Great I thought !!!! How very wrong was I !!! On returning to the phone I thanked her and said I would order online to which she replied “two butter chicken anything else ? I said I hadn’t ordered anything yet ! Reply ! So your wanting to change your order ??? Again I said NO I have not ordered anything yet !!! I am going to order online !! Your adding to your order??? AGAIN I replied no I haven’t ordered yet !!! the restaurant then said I can take your order now ? I replied no it’s fine I will order online , No I can take the order now was the reply . Ok I thought so I placed my order, we went through my address , mobile , name etc etc repeated it etc been about 20 mins now !!! For the restaurant to then repeat a completely different mobile number back to me !! Not even a digit out but a completely different number all together and then called me by a completely different name !!!! By this point my patience is starting to wear thin !!!! So after going over it all over again then clarifying my order and details CORRECTLY I was told I could pay on delivery . I asked if I could pay over the phone now before delivery with eftpos to which I was asked to pay CASH on reciept at the house . I said I didn’t have cash and she replied “ CASH IS PREFERED” again I said I didn’t have the cash and could I just pay over the phone ? She said I have your mobile number and repeated the correct one I need to verify you first . I will call you back in a few moments. I hung up and waited 10 mins NO CALL !!! It’s now been nearing on 50 mins of explanation and waiting !!! when I called back and said hi just been taking to you . You were going to call me back to verify my mobile number for my order, she replied with ohhhh yes !!! You can place your order through menu log etc !!!! SERIOUSLY I thought I was on some telephone wind up show !!! This place is Just not worth the hassle it may have great food but 50 mins to try order a takeaway is just not...

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Balti at Clarkson, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment I stepped through the door, the warm and inviting atmosphere set the tone for an evening of exquisite flavors and top-notch service.

The highlight of our meal was undoubtedly the incredible dishes prepared by Chef Nasir. His talent truly shines through in every bite! We started with the Chicken Tikka, which was perfectly marinated and grilled to perfection. The spices were balanced beautifully, making it a fantastic appetizer.

For the main course, I opted for the Lamb Rogan Josh, and it was nothing short of heavenly. The lamb was tender and flavorful, with just the right amount of heat. My dining companion chose the Paneer Butter Masala, and she couldn't stop raving about its creamy texture and rich taste. Each dish was presented beautifully, showcasing Chef Nasir's attention to detail.

Not only was the food exceptional, but the service was equally impressive. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable, providing excellent recommendations and ensuring that we had everything we needed throughout our meal.Nasir even came out to greet us, which was a lovely touch that made us feel truly valued as guests.

Overall, Balti at Clarkson is a gem that I can't recommend highly enough. If you're looking for a dining experience that combines exquisite taste with exceptional service, make sure to visit. I can't wait to return and try more of their culinary creations!

Bon...
