Absolutely the WORST customer service I have ever experienced. Waited for 1 hour with my 3 year old only to be told they couldn’t find my order and possibly was given to someone else, was told by one staff member they would remake my order and the boss said to give some money back, cashier gave entire refund and I continued to wait as I was told it was going to be remade. About 15 minutes later the boss said to the cashier didn’t you give that lady a refund, he said he did and the boss could loudly be heard to say “IM NOT MAKING IT FOR FREE”. When asked about the order he just said sorry and turned his back to me. Whilst waiting for my order customers were turned away as they were “too busy” however only had one person on cooking and had around 10 orders. Given the current climate you would expect any business to really value their customers and appreciate their business. SUGGEST TO AVOID THIS BUSINESS LIKE THE PLAGUE AND GIVE BACK TO ALL THE BUSINESSES THAT HAVE EXCELLENT...

What can I say? We are so spoilt in this area for quality takeaway, and Merchant lifts the bar a little higher. The fish we had was sensational, two grilled, one battered - all 3 stunning. Beautifully thick, juicy, flakey, meaty pieces. No mush, no thin, dried out traces. Sensational. The dim Sims were really good also, perfect! Being fussy, I prefer my chips a little more browned, crunchy but they complimented our meal so well. Staff/owners are lovely, easy to talk to people, but they weren't busy, but I bet they are next time I visit. Which won't be long. Thanks guys!

20th Aug '23 Well, two years later, we returned, not from want of trying, but that's another story. Three pieces of batterred fish & chips, as per review above fish, was excellent, and this time, chips were also. Crunchy but fluffy inside. Lovely. Our new go to Fishshop now! Wish they would develop into a fishmonger as well??...

We have beeen eating the delicious fish and chips from Merchant's for over a year now and never been disapointed. Everyone I talk to agrees with me. I have watched the pizza machine installed and finally comissioned a few months ago. Just finished eating one of their Mexicana's and was not very happy. We have eaten pizzas from the usual mob (dominos, pizza hut etc) and I must say Merchant's come a sad last. Crust has very dry, toppings were minimal and the taste, not at all flavourfull. I understand that there are pizza shops and then there are pizza shops but for the price I expected a little bit better - maybe I caught them on...
