Birds Bakery — Restaurant in Cohuna

The owner is the rudest woman I have ever met. Went in here and purchased a pie. Got half way through and it was cold in the middle. When I mentioned it to the lovely staff member the owner interrupted and said “well you’ve eaten half of it now what do you want us to do about it?” And then turned her back on me and carried on talking about me to staff under her breath.

In no way was I rude to her about the cold pie, I was polite, smiled and apologised for bothering them. I was simply hoping to get it heated up but didn’t get the chance to ask because she cut me off. Her staff member was clearly embarrassed by her rudeness and offered to warm it for me. The locals tell me that she is awful to work for. Not surprising really after my experience with her.

Tried to order some baked goods to be delivered and they were interested but we were having problems with the credit card. I checked at my end with the credit card company and they said that no one had tried to put anything through from Australia. I phoned back to ask about it and to confirm that they were trying to input a credit card and not a debit card and got told to not phone back before I could say anything and when I did they hung up on me. I was having it delivered in town so it isn't a crank call, you know where it is being delivered. Rather disappointed.

A bit hit and miss like everything in Cohuna. Pies are tasteless. Time to spice up the recipes guys it ain't working. One thing I will give them is the bloody best Swiss roll I've ever tasted. Not joking it was divine. Hopefully it is like that consistently. Bakery is a treat and I understand that it's a expensive thing to run and also for us to eat from. Staff are hard to get and harder to teach hospitality to....
