Driving past this town I didn’t even think to stop, then I saw a sign saying Waffles and Jaffles, having no idea what Jaffles are I turned around to go have a look. To my surprise Jaffles are toasties, since I was already intrigued as well as hungry I ordered both a serve of waffles with cream, ice cream and syrup plus a ham and cheese toastie, oh and a chocolate milkshake to wash it all down. While I was waiting for my order I was reading the mural on the front wall, about the ingredients and history to learn that the waffles here are different to your standard Belgian waffles. The waffles came out first and the serving looked amazing and the ice cream was stacked high, the waffle had such a great crunch even with the cream and ice cream, the flavour was incredible with a caramelised sugar taste. Next came the Jaffles and besides looking like a standard a toastie it tasted amazing. Overall the whole experience was great, the food was great and I will be stopping again on my way back home....
Read moreI don’t give 5 stars easily, but this place fully deserves it. We didn’t expect much in terms of food when we stopped to see the Coonalpyn silo mural. What a nice surprise! We had pulled pork jaffle, curried vegetables jaffle and a waffle with warm cherries. Everything was delicious, generous portions, quality ingredients and was making perfect sense. Each jaffle had little sides like pickles, slaw, mustard, apple sauce, sweet mango chutney. The warm sour cherry jam with whole cherries over a really delicious waffle was the top. We were full and paid $21 in total. This place has amazing price/quality/quantity ratio. They have nice little outdoor seating area in shade. People running the place are very nice, friendly and happy to answer all questions about their menu. This could easily be a gourmet street food place in Sydney or Melbourne and people would be queueing there....
Read moreSuch a cute little place (Belgium style) my partner and I just stumbled upon from our way to Horsham from Adelaide!!! We were wondering where and when to eat for lunch and this place was conveniently located across from our toilet stop. The owner was really really sweet and spoke to my partner in French (he’s from France), as well as accommodating him with warm apple topping for his waffle without the cinnamon as he prefers it without. Such amazing service here from each staff, all with bright smiles. All customers were chill as and the atmosphere was really nice, even on a cold wet and windy winter day (I guess that’s the proper Belgium style lol). Not to mention the food was fantastic of course. Perfect pit stop feed, special mention to the satay chicken jaffle. Thanks for the cute little memory
